But now you can do the whole thing right on your iPhone in the Mail app. Once you’ve perfected your on-screen signature, you can continue to use the same one and even change what color it is. To do this, we’ll use the Markup feature that was introduced with iOS 9. Here’s how to sign a PDF document in the Mail app.
By default, your iPhone or iPad will continually check for new mail and immediately "push" it to your device as a notification. This ensures you get new emails as soon as they arrive. However, the Push setting can also drain more battery power because your device checks for new emails continuously. Here's how to change the mail Fetch settings on your iPhone and save a little more battery.

So what is the difference between Push and Fetch on iPhone? When the Push option is turned on, notifications for new emails will come in as soon as you receive them. However, leaving Push on all the time consumes more battery power. Unless you need your emails to reach you immediately, you should turn Push off and use Fetch, meaning your iPhone will check for new emails periodically (i.e., it will "fetch" new emails at specific intervals). That's how to change your iPhone's push notification email settings to Fetch. Doing so will help conserve battery life by changing how often you fetch new data on your iPhone. The greater the interval, the more battery you'll save. If you are not getting emails on iPhone, the above settings could be the cause, in which case, I would recommend switching Push back on. This works best if the document is sent to you, because you can easily add your signature and send it back. If you want to do this for a document you’re sending, you’ll need to send it to yourself first.
To sign a PDF document in the mail app,
Open the email with the attached PDF and download the document.
Open the PDF by tapping on it.
Tap the icon that looks like a toolbox in the lower right corner.
Now you should be in Markup. Tap the signature icon in the lower right corner.
Write a new signature,
Or select the one you’ve used before.
Once the signature is on the page, move it to the place you’d like and drag the corners to change the size of your signature.
You can also change the color at the bottom if desired.
Tap Done when satisfied.
