Everything Apple Announced During Its September 2020 Event
By Sarah Kingsbury
Today's Apple event was as notable for what it didn't announce (no new iPhones) as much as for what it did (two new Apple Watches and two new iPads along with two new subscription services). At times the brief, virtual announcement seemed to drag on endlessly as if Tim Cook and team were trying to fill time with videos recapping what they had just announced and an overview of the company's environmental initiatives. However, even with a shorter, iPhone-free event, there was plenty to get excited about. Here's a roundup of everything Apple unveiled, including the Apple Watch Series 6, Apple Watch SE, iPad (8th generation), iPad Air, and the Fitness+ and Apple One subscriptions.

Fall Apple Event: How to Watch the iPhone 12 Announcement on September 15
By Sarah Kingsbury
It's official! The fall 2020 Apple event will take place on Tuesday, September 15, rather than sometime in October as leaker Jon Prosser speculated back in August. We can confidently assume that Apple will announce the coolest new features, specs, and release dates of the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro and Apple Watch Series 6. We'll find out if talk of four different new iPhone models (one 5.4-inch, two 6.1-inch, and one 6.7-inch model) is accurate and we'll also see if rumors of new 2020 iPads, a more affordable version of the HomePod, and a Tile-like Bluetooth tracker called AirTags are true. We'll be offering commentary during the event in our Facebook group and in the special podcast episode we'll be recording right after. Here’s how you can watch Apple's iPhone reveal too.
Apple’s fall event historically brings exciting announcements. In years past, this installment in the tech giant’s series of annual events has brought key information about upcoming product releases, specifically for new iPhones and Apple Watches. The timing of the 2020 Apple fall event is as-yet unannounced, but it’s likely it’ll still occur close to its typical timing. The iPhone 12 release, on the other hand, will probably see a delay of a few weeks or so, according to the Apple Q3 Earnings Call, for which Motley Fool has shared the transcript.

Unlike so many other charging platforms on the market, BaseLynx is a modular system that allows you to specifically tailor the charging configuration to your device needs. Does this approach make sense from both a functional and economical point of view? Read on to find out.

Review: SkyB Apple Watch Cases Aim to Up Your Watch's Style Factor
By Todd Bernhard
My family of four currently has three Apple Watches, and that could grow to four. It becomes increasingly important to be able to identify which watch belongs to whom. There are plenty of junky plastic Apple Watch cases out there, so I was skeptical when I saw the Apple Watch Cases (starting at $49) from SkyB at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. SkyB let me try a review unit with one of my Apple Watches and holding it made all the difference.
Review: Nomad Base Station Charging Pad Now Has USB-C Power Delivery
By Todd Bernhard
I love when a product I've reviewed in the past gets better, and even the folks at Nomad found room for improvement in their high-quality, high-end Base Station. After I visited them at CES, Nomad sent me the updated Base Station Apple Watch Edition ($149.95) and the upgrade hits all the right high notes.
Review: PZOZ Apple Watch Protective Case
By Mike Riley
With the high-end Apple Watch costing nearly the same amount as a low-end iPhone, Apple Watch owners are essentially wearing an iPhone on their wrist. Protective cases keep the iPhone from harm. The same holds true for the Apple Watch. One case I have recently tested is PZOZ's Apple Watch Protective Case ($10.11). How well does this case hold up? Read on to find out.
Review: Time Traveler Apple Watch & iPhone Portable Power Bank
By Todd Bernhard
My family has three Apple Watches and four iPhones, so anytime I can find a device that charges both, I'm happy. The folks at The Grommet sent me the Time Traveler iPhone & Apple Watch Battery Bank ($79.95) to try and it does that and more. The Time Traveler has a built-in charging pad for an Apple Watch. You don't need to provide your own so that's a cost and convenience bonus. There is also a built-in Lightning cable that tucks away under the unit, so you don't have to bring a Lightning cable either!
How to Use the Apple Watch Noise App
By Tamlin Day
The Noise app on your Apple Watch is there to help protect your hearing against harmful decibels, but to get the notifications, you’ll need to enable the app. With the Noise app, you can set the decibel at which you want to be notified and set how you receive the notifications. Let’s dive in with how to protect your ears with the Noise app.
Just when you think there's no way to innovate when building a charging dock, along comes the Wireless Charging Station ($92.99) from Choetech. This thing has everything; an integrated Apple Watch charging port, a Lightning port, and a Qi wireless charging pad. If that weren't enough, there's a USB port on the back so you can add your own cable, for another Apple Lightning item or a USB-C or microUSB device. All of this could generate heat, so the charger has two cooling fans that expel heat from the bottom.

If you're getting in the zone on a good workout, listening to your music, and feeling the endorphin rush, then the interruption of a notification from your Apple Watch can mess up your rhythm. Luckily, all you have to do is open your Watch app, go to the General settings page, select Do Not Disturb, and activate Workout Do Not Disturb. Then your watch will automatically enter Do Not Disturb mode any time you start a workout, and your running or rowing will be the "me time" you need. Let's get started.
