How do you change the font size on an iPhone or iPad for individual apps? Before you can adjust text size on iPhone for each app, you'll need to add the Text Size adjustment feature to the Control Center on your iPhone. Here's how to do that; next, learn how to change font size in apps!

  1. Open the Control Center on your iPhone or iPad.
  2. Touch and hold a blank spot in the Control Center.

  3. Now that the Control Center is in Edit mode, tap Add a Control.

  4. Tap Text Size.

  5. You'll see the Text Size control in your Control Center.

  6. Tap a blank spot in the Control Center again, and you'll exit Edit Mode. Now, whenever you open your Control Center, you'll see the Text Size control.

How to Change Text Size on iPhone for Individual Apps

Now that you have access to Text Size in the Control Center on your iPhone, let's learn how to change text size on iPhone for each app that's hard to read. 

  1. First, open the app you want to change text size in on your iPhone or iPad. Here, I want to change the font size in Messenger on my iPhone.

  2. Open the Control Center on your iPhone or iPad.
  3. Touch and hold Text Size control, then tap Messenger Only (name will change depending on which app you have open) or All Apps, to choose whether to increase font size just the app you're using, or all apps.

  4. Use your finger to move the slider up or down to change font size for the app. The more white bars, the larger the font size.

  5. You'll see a percentage increase or decrease in the size of the font at the top of your screen.

  6. When you're finished, tap a blank part of the screen to exit, and you'll see the new font size in the app.
