How to See Only Unread Emails in the iPhone Mail App

Starting with iOS 10 on the iPhone, you can subscribe to Publications within Apple News. For example, The Wall Street Journal has a premium subscription only members can view. With iOS 10, you can subscribe to that publication right from within the News app. If you already have a subscription to a publication outside of Apple News, you can log in to that subscription to view that publication’s news in the News app. When this feature was first launched, only a handful of publications took advantage of the option.
