Chiming in on StoryChime
By Anonymous
I think Siena Entertainment has hit one out of the park with StoryChime's The Queen Bee (.99) a 21st Century take on the Brothers Grimm 1884 Fairy Tail.
Let me walk you through why. According to the company press release, Story Chimes was created by two young fathers who were looking for a way to educationally entertain their kids while promoting a contemporary way to make reading fun.” Well if my son is any indication, they certainly have found a way to make reading fun.

Great iPhone Web browser hack: make (unreadably) small text much larger!
By Werner Ruotsalainen
Back in January, I’ve very thoroughly elaborated on the problems of Safari with some pages like THIS and THIS partly caused by the lack of any kind of character size increasing (and, with the Thinkpad thread, the lack of correctly reflowing / breaking long words / URL’s).
Thanks to apple.com forum user ‘ihadmeavision2’, I’ve found a for
Free AppButler helps you organize your apps
By Jim Karpen
I love the new feature in iTunes 9 that lets you organize your apps via your desktop computer. I find it to be quicker and easier than doing it via my iPhone. Still, one of the weaknesses of the interface is that you have to page through a bunch of screens to find the app you want, and it's hard to tell at a glance which page you're on. AppButler is an amazingly simple, yet clever solution. For now, it's a free service that you access by pointing your iPhone's Safari at appbutler.com. They have an app awaiting approval that will cost $2.99. Here's how the free service works.
Emulating the PlayStation on the iPhone 3G S
By Werner Ruotsalainen
First of all, if you have an iPhone 3G, you don’t need to read further – games are just too slow. The situation is somewhat better on the second-generation iPod Touch because of the faster CPU. Nevertheless, few very-very games run playable on even the 2nd-generation iPod Touch.
If, on the other hand, you have a 3G S and you definitely want to play some titles, you might want to read on.
In order to emulate the Playstation, you’ll need the following:
- If your phone isn’t already jailbroken, jailbreak it
Turbo Subs: Makin' Sandwiches At High Speed
By Eric Pankoke
If you’re familiar with Cake Mania, your first impression of Turbo Subs is going to be “isn’t this Cake Mania in a sub shop?” In some ways it feels like it, though as far as I’m concerned that’s merely a testament of how well the Cake Mania format of game play works. Turbo Subs has its own atmosphere, its own set of challenges, and its own rewards. Best of all, it’s just as fun as Cake Mania. Game play can get quite frantic, but in the end it’s all worth it and the game is a delight to play.

How to clear Safari's cache on your iPhone

The Temporary Internet Files folder contains a kind of travel record of the items you have seen, heard, or downloaded from the Web, including images, sounds, Web pages, even cookies.
Everything you'll ever need to know about listening to radio on the iPhone - Part I
By Werner Ruotsalainen
The iPhone is an ideal platform for listening to online radio stations. In this article, I explain everything you’ll ever need to know about all this. You’ll learn how radio stations can be listened to on even non-jailbroken iPhones, without any hacks to play stations in the background; I also present a very thorough comparison of currently available third-party radio software.
First and foremost, let’s take a closer look at the built-in, out-of-the-box radio support.
1. Built-in capabilities: QuickTime
All versions of the iPhone (and, of course, the iPod Touch – from now on, I refer to all these as “iPhone”), under OS3, already have support for playing back some (not all!) possible radio stream types.
Erase data after 10 failed passcodes
By Anonymous (not verified)
You can set a passcode on your iPhone or iPod touch to keep your data secure. To do this:
- Go to Settings >General >Passcode Lock and enter a four-number passcode. (Please make it a little more challenging than “1234.”)
If security is very important to you, you may want to set the “Erase Data” option. When set, this option wipes your storage memory clean after 10 consecutive failed attempts to enter the passcode. To activate this:
- Go to the Set Passcode screen as described above.
- After you have entered a passcode and confirmed it, a second screen labeled “Passcode Lock” appears. Slide the “Erase Data” button to the on position
No sound on iPhone or iPod touch?
By Anonymous (not verified)
Note that the iPod touch 2G has built-in speakers, but the first generation Touch does not. You must use the earphones that came with the device. If you can’t hear any sound coming from your device, check out the obvious things first:
Activate multiple keyboards
By Anonymous (not verified)
You can have more than one keyboard layout active on your device at any time. So, for example, an international executive who did business in the U.K. and Russia could keep an English and Russian (Cyrillic) keyboard active and switch between them when composing notes and e-mail messages.
To activate different keyboards:
How to Change the Playback Speed for Audible Audiobooks on iPhone
By Anonymous (not verified)
Here's a tip that you might not use too often, but that's useful to have if you have to get through an audiobook quickly, say, for a class or work assignment. Did you know that you can speed up the playback tempo in your Audible app on iPhone? You can also slow down the narration speed, although I've never needed to use that feature. Read on to learn how to speed up or slow down the narration speed in the Audible app on your iPhone.

With the Push support in the iPhone OS 3, the iPhone has become an excellent platform for instant messaging.
Shake it out is an app that chooses a random line item from lists you create. I use EVERY day for one reason or another. It's a staple that I'm so glad I found & is quick & simple to use.
