X-Doria Defense Ultra Review: A Well-Built, Protective Case for iPhone X

There's a lot to like about the Defense Ultra iPhone X case ($39.95) from X-Doria. This attractive, protective iPhone X case is rugged without being bulky or interfering with the iPhone's audio quality. In fact, I had a hard time thinking of anything I didn't like about this case.

X-Doria

I liked that the case's military-grade drop protection will keep the iPhone X safe from falls up to 12 feet. And the Defense Ultra is strong, thanks to the combination of anodized aluminum with rubber and polycarbonate. Despite all of the protective materials it's built with, X-Doria's rugged iPhone X case is still quite attractive and slim. The Defense Ultra is sold in assorted colors such as purple, blue, and gray, in addition to black.

A really nice feature of the iPhone X Defense Ultra case is the acoustic channel that redirects audio from the iPhone X toward the user instead of straight down, which is a long-time problem of all iPhones. All of these features make the X-Doria Defense Ultra iPhone X Case a great buy.

Pros

  • Military-grade drop tested up to 12 feet
  • Protective aluminum, rubber, and polycarbonate materials
  • Attractive, slim design in assorted colors
  • Audio redirection via acoustic channel
  • Reasonably priced

Cons

  • None
