After awhile, the Apple lightning cable is bound to fray. Finding the best durable lightning cable for charging your iPhone is a must. Apple switched to lightning cables with the iPhone 5, which means iPhone 6 and iPhone 7 users will be searching for a strong lightning charging cable too. You can get another one from Apple or put that money towards a third-party lightning cable that will be more likely to last a lot longer. We’ll cover the best, most durable lightning cables, the best short lightning cable, and multiple other categories. If you need a new charging cable, this is the roundup for you.

Hey, Alexa: The Pros and Cons of My Amazon Echo Experience
By Daniel Rasmus
I will be honest, I talk to my Amazon Echo’s agent, Alexa, more than I talk to Siri. In many ways, the Echo is a completely different creature than Siri. I don’t need Siri to use my iPhone. Apple hopes that Siri makes me more dependent on my phone, but there is no using the Echo without Alexa. Echo is designed primarily as the home for an intelligent assistant and little else.
If you ever wanted to hunt dinosaurs in your living room or swim through the ocean in your bathtub, then you might be interested in learning more about virtual reality. While Apple has spent the last few updates pushing augmented reality rather than virtual reality on the iPhone, that doesn't mean we should give up our iPhone VR dreams. So far, the best VR headsets have been for Android phones and PCs, such as Google's DaydreamView VR viewer, and the experience of an Apple virtual reality isn't available to iPhone or Mac users just yet. None of the major players, such as HTC Vive or Oculus Rift, have chosen the Mac as their platform of choice (often citing slow graphics and non-configurable designs). And while Samsung has embraced VR with its Gear VR for its phones, Apple users have had to make do with Google Cardboard and its knockoffs if they wanted to use an iPhone VR headset. If you are interested in iPhone VR headsets, there are six key things you need to know.
Review: Cross Townsend Brushed Platinum Plate Fine-Tip Stylus
By Daniel Rasmus
When I graduated from high school, I was presented with a set of 10K gold Cross pens by my parents. This replaced a chrome set I had received in junior high school. For many, Cross was a symbol for writers. Over the years, I have collected many pens, but my Cross pens remain front-and-center, flanked by their cousins from Mont Blanc and Cartier. Today, I write on my iPad Air 2 more often than on paper. The closest pen, versus the best pen, usually suffices for the occasional check endorsement or tax note on a receipt. Like regular pens, I have collected dozens of styluses, from the passive type that drove the interfaces of the Sharp Zaurus and the Pocket PC, to the active type used to scrawl across the likes of the Microsoft Surface.

By Daniel Rasmus
For people who spend time a lot time on the phone at work or in traditional audio calls delivered through Voice over IP (VoIP), Facetime, or on any of the dozens of audio and video conferencing services, Plantronics has recently shipped the ultimate accessory: the Voyager Focus UC ($299.95).
19 Must-Have iPhone Gadgets for the Office
By Daniel Rasmus
As a reviewer, I receive all type of gear and accessories, from iPad cases to styluses and light bulbs to remote controls. Out of all of the products I receive to evaluate, only a few make it into my regular technology repertoire. Its not that I don’t use other items I’ve reviewed, but these have taken up residence in my office, I keep them handy and actually rely on them to do my work. I think that is the highest praise for a technology accessory. I won’t provide deep reviews in these posts, but I will be telling you why I like the item, and what has made it indispensable to my work.
Headphones, Headsets & Earbuds, Oh My!
By Daniel Rasmus
There is nothing like the post-Consumer Electronics Show fulfillment of promise, as things that were just demos in January start to ship. I spent the last month reviewing a wide variety of headphones, earbuds, and other audio devices. Here are my thoughts on a dozen ways to bring audio into your life, categorized by type: mono earbuds, stereo earbuds, on-the-ear headphones and over-the-ear headphones.
iPhone 6 Cover Review: 3 Options from Qmadix
By Daniel Rasmus
I am always overwhelmed by iPhone cases shipments. A few days ago a big box arrived from Qmadix with one of every case they currently distribute for the iPhone 6.
I conducted an extensive review of three headphones. This review includes aesthetics, features, and sound. Like many areas of modern electronics, hundreds of headphones exist in a seemingly infinite variety of shapes and sizes. The most important element though, is good fit and good sound. Beyond that, nothing else really matters.
An iPhone 6 Case Roundup 1- Post CES 2015
By Daniel Rasmus
This case round-up looks at the first big wave of iPhone 6 cases that I received after the Consumer Electronics Show. Keep in mind that price doesn’t necessarily reflect the quality or protection attributes of the cases. It is very difficult to compare cases to each other because you need to include your own personal use case in the equation. As you read these reviews, think about the following questions:
