Happy Thursday, Reader! Are you super excited about all the all-new Siri AI coming to your phone this fall? Well, don't get too excited. If you use the new Siri too much, you might have to pay for it.
It makes some sense when you think about it. If Siri is truly going to be a fully functional AI agent, Apple's computing costs will rise. OpenAI, Google, Anthropic, and others all charge for heavy use of their AI models (sometimes truly astronomical rates!) But Apple's customers aren't used to paying for Siri, and I certainly won't be happy with it if Siri's upgrades aren't truly impressive. What do you think?
