Steve Jobs quote on death
By David Averbach
By now I'm sure you've all heard the news of Steve jobs' passing. I just wanted to express my condolences to Steve's family and my gratitude for all of his innovations. Below is a quote from Jobs' Stanford commencement address:
Snowball Mic by Blue Mic

Many users who buy the ipad today purchase it not just for fun but use productively. It can be used for an infinite number of tasks. Just to name a few the iPad 2 is a work horse of a word processor and much more. It also offers applications to record audio and video. This is a great way to capture many memories or create your own soundtracks. Like I said before the list is never ending. The iPad 2 grouped with the appropriate app and hardware can produce professional sounding audio tracks for things like podcasts. The video recordings aren't all that great with only a 2 meg camera on
Review - iHome iW1 Wireless Speaker System
By Nate Adcock
The iW1 from iHome is a superb AirPlay compatible wireless speaker. I was the first person to get a review unit, so more or less the first guinea pig user. Consequently, I had some guinea pig type problems with it, but with help from the folks at iHome, was able to get it working quite well. It is arguably the best combination of features I have yet seen in a portable speaker system.
All-Weather Soft Mount Bike Mount
By admin
Riding my recumbent bike, is one of my great joys. Another great joy is tracking my trips and playing music along the way. For this purpose, I need a good handlebar mount that will allow me to hold my PDA in plain view securely.
My first bike mount was a disaster. I thought my phone was securely fastened, but on the first bump, the unit went flying, the battery cover in one direction, the body, and battery in other directions. When I retrieved it, the screen was shattered, and I had to get a new phone. That bike mount was an expensive proposition above its initial cost.

Review: Pocket Warriors by Rainbow Game
By Eric Pankoke
Some have reasonably argued that full fledged RPGs are a bit too overwhelming for the portable market where the majority of users only spend minutes at a time playing games. Several developers have attempted to provide the RPG fix without the RPG commitment, and Pocket Warriors is one of those games. It actually fits the mold somewhat well, except for the fact that it’s so watered down the game play becomes redundant and boring rather quickly. At least it looks pretty and sounds halfway decent, though.
iPhone App Review: Naked King (Free)
By Peter Magers
ActOn has entered the castle-defense genre boldly with “Naked King.” Of course, anyone who can maintain their royal bearing while stripped to their undies is bound to be bold, right?

Apple's Newsstand is Building Momentum
By Jim Karpen
We're rapidly seeing the migration of magazines, newspapers, and books to portable media, with many top publications now available on iOS devices. And excellent new ones such as The Daily becoming available. Apple will foster this trend with its new Newsstand app that will come with iOS 5. Announced in June, the app will offer an iBooks-like bookshelf interface for collecting together your publications and subscriptions. As new issues come out, they will automatically be added to your bookshelf.
"Dress Up Like Steve Jobs Day" Going Viral
By Alex Cequea
"Dress Up Like Steve Jobs Day" is September 9th 2011. That means get your jeans, black shirts and black turtle necks ready!
How did this happen?
A few of us at iPhone Life were trying to come up with a fun and easy way to show our respect and appreciation to Steve Jobs, a man who's vision, inspiration and dedication have touched so many people's lives, and whose retirement from the role of Apple CEO marks the end of an era.
TV Everywhere with EyeTV Hybrid
By admin
This is the story of eyetv hybrid TV Tuner Stick for HDTV and analog TVs. It's the all in one TV for PC or Mac. It transforms your computer into a virtual TV and recorder--watch, record, edit, and enjoy anywhere, live or recorded.
Record from the TV program guide, one show or a whole season. It comes with a one year complimentary subscription to TV Guide, which can be renewed for $19.95 a year thereafter.
Eyetv can automatically export your shows to iTunes so that you can watch them on your iPhone, iPod, or iPad whenever you wish. You can share shows with other computers on your network.
One complaint I have about the iPad's screen is the beautiful, glossy surface. Sure it looks great, until you actually touch it. I'm tempted to wipe it with something 10 seconds after turning it on. The glassy surface is also not optimal for quick and constant finger dragging when gaming, and glare and reflections can be be distracting. The NuVue Anti-Glare protective screen guard will diminish these issues.
Have you ever envied people who sit in the coffee shop with their thumbs blazing as they text away on their mobile devices? As an iPhone/iPad person, you have been out of luck if you want this form factor--until now.
Let me introduce you to the nifty, new NUU Mini keyboard. It is really meant for the iPhone, but I slipped my iPod touch 4 into it, and it works just fine. It has a little slop room, but you can shim it up if it really bothers you.
Geek timepiece: 4-bit Binary Watch
By admin
It seems to me that fewer and fewer people wear watches these days in favor of using a mobile phone for keeping time. Yet watch companies appear to be alive and well. I think they have to be more innovative and creative with design and functionality to keep in the game.
Recently a noteworthy watch by Cadence watch company came to my attention. It's the perfect watch for geeks with its 4-bit binary face instead of Arabic or Latin numerals.
It is a classy time piece that would serve you well in formal attire or on casual occasions with its stainless steel case, leather strap and steel buckle designed by John Flear who is noted for incorporating high-tech motifs into retro objects.
