Ring Video Doorbell Now Works with Macs

We gave the Ring Video Doorbell one of our Best of Show Awards at CES a while ago, and it's nice to see such a good product getting better. While it's great to get notifications of visitors on your iOS device, sometimes you might be away from your iPhone or iPad but near your Mac. With an official (and free) Mac app, now you can see those notices on a nice big screen.

Ring

The app is not downloadable from the Mac App Store, but rather directly from Ring's website. They also have apps for Windows 10 and Google Android, so now there's no excuse to not see visitors coming. In fact, you can activate the Motion Detector sensors and see activity besides just people pressing your doorbell. It's great for Halloween, as I observed, but also for package delivery and the political canvassing. You can decide if it's worth answering the door, wherever you are. Now, that even includes remotely, at work, on your Mac or PC.
