Whether you're in a quiet or noisy environment, turning on your iPhone's vibrate mode can help alert you to incoming calls and texts. You can enable vibrate mode while your iPhone is silenced or in addition to a ringtone. Here’s how to set iPhone to vibrate when receiving calls and texts.

How to Make Your iPhone Vibrate for Incoming Calls & Texts

For a long time, this feature was referred to as "vibrate," but Apple now calls it Haptics, which can be confusing if you're looking to make the iPhone vibrate. You can still change vibration settings under Haptics in Settings. Here's how to put your phone on vibrate mode via the Settings app.

  1. On your iPhone, tap Settings.

  4. From here, you can select haptics to Always Play anytime your iPhone receives an alert.

  5. You can choose to have it Play in Silent Mode to make sure your iPhone will vibrate while silenced.

  6. Alternatively, you can choose to have your iPhone not vibrate in silent by tapping Don't Play in Silent Mode.

  7. And lastly, if you never want your iPhone to vibrate whether silenced or not, select Never Play.
