How to Take a Live Photo Selfie on iPhone

If you have the iPhone 6s (Plus), iPhone SE, or iPhone 7 (Plus), you’re probably already aware of how to take Live Photos. But did you know you can take a live photo selfie as well? The front-facing camera on iPhone is able to take Live Photos just like the rear-facing camera. And it’s just as easy to do too. Here’s how to take a Live Photo selfie on iPhone.

How to Take a Live Photo Selfie

  • Open the Camera app.

  • Tap the camera icon that flips from the rear-facing camera to the front-facing camera.

  • Make sure the icon that looks like a bullseye is yellow, meaning Live Photos are turned on. If white, tap the icon to turn Live Photos on.

  • Tap the shutter button.

You’ve taken a Live Photo selfie! Go to your Photos app, then tap and hold the image to see it come to life.

Pro tip: You can use your Apple Watch as a timer to take the perfect selfies!
