One of the most convenient features of the iPhone's Mail app is its ability to autofill email addresses based on your recent activity; but what happens when friends, family, and coworkers switch accounts? Mail will keep right on suggesting the old email address, even after you've updated to the new one in your Contacts! Don't worry though; there's a way to delete outdated contact information in your Mail app so that your iPhone will start using the new, correct address every time. Let's get started learning how to get rid of the old email addresses now.

To remove old contacts from the Mail app:
- Tap on the Mail app to open it.
- Now tap on the write new email icon at the bottom right of your display.


- Start typing your contact's name into the "To" field.
- Recent contacts will appear with a lower-case i in a circle next to them; tap the i next to the old email address you'd like to remove.


- Now tap Remove from Recents to stop your iPhone from suggesting this email address in future.
