Can I Add Google Calendar to iPhone Calendar?

Apple's Calendar app comes pre-installed on your Apple devices. It's a simple, no-frills scheduling tool that is handy because it's integrated into the functions of your iPhone. It can even help you keep track of your appointments on your CarPlay display! That said, many people (myself included) actually prefer to use Google Calendar to keep track of appointments and scheduling. Google provides so many more options for customization, which can be nice to have! 

While each calendar has its own benefits and it can be tempting to use both calendars on your iPhone at once, problems can arise from trying to keep both calendars updated at all times. So why not sync Google Calendar with iPhone's native Calendar app? Keep reading to learn how.

How to Sync Google Calendar with iPhone Calendar

While there are quite a few steps needed to sync Apple Calendar with Google Calendar, it can be quite rewarding to have all of your appointments show up in one place on your iPhone. Follow the steps below to add Google Calendar to the iPhone Calendar app.

  1. Open Settings.


     
  2. Scroll down and tap Calendar.


     
  3. Tap Accounts.


     
  4. Tap Add Account.


     
  5. Tap Google.


     
  6. Tap Continue.


     
  7. Enter your Google account email, then tap Next.


     
  8. Enter your Google account password, then tap Next.


     
  9. If prompted, complete two-factor authentication.
  10. Tap the toggle next to Calendars to enable syncing. The toggle will be green when enabled.


     
  11. Tap Save in the upper-right corner.


     
  12. Now, open the Calendar app.


     
  13. Tap Calendars at the bottom of the screen.


     
  14. Check the bubble next to the calendar you want to add to your Apple Calendar.


     
  15. Tap Done.
