By adding a contact picture to iPhone and iPad contacts, you'll be able to"see" who's calling or texting you. Here's how to add iPhone contact pictures for your friends, family, and coworkers.

  1. Open the Contacts app. open the contacts app
  2. Tap a contact. tap contact name in contacts app
  3. Tap Edit in the top right. tap edit in contact card
  4. Tap Edit again. tap edit again in contact
  5. Tap Photos, Memoji, Monogram, or Emoji. In this case, I'll tap Emoji. tap emoji
  6. Tap an emoji to select, or tap the emoji icon on the top left to see more options. tap emoji icon to see more options
  7. Tap an option, or use the Search Emoji bar option if you don't see the emoji you want. use search bar to find emoji
  8. Tap Choose. tap choose to choose emoji
  9. Tap the Background Color icon. tap background color icon
  10. Tap a color to choose. tap background color
  11. Tap the X. tap x to close background color options
  12. Tap Choose. tap choose to save contact photo
  13. Tap the check mark. tap the check mark
  14. Tap to choose the poster. tap to choose a poster
  15. Tap the check mark to confirm your decision. tap check mark to confirm

Your set picture will now display as the contact image in Messages conversations and when this contact calls you.
