What Are Insider Guides?

Our guides cover everything you need to know about the latest versions of iOS, iPadOS, watchOS, and macOS. Each guide includes a downloadable PDF along with videos that let you see the guide content in action.

How to Access Guide PDFs

  1. Log in to insider.iphonelife.com.
  2. Select Guides from the navigation bar on your iPad or Mac or from the drop down menu on the left on your iPhone. From here you will see all our guides starting with our most recent guides.
  3. Tap or click on a guide to view the PDF
  4. Scroll down to the bottom of the page and tap or click Download PDF to access the written guide.
  5. On your Mac or iPad, you can also access the PDF by tapping and clicking Get PDF in the side bar.

How to Print Guide PDFs

Sometimes it's most convenient to view the guide in a printed format.

  1. Select Guides from the navigation bar on your iPad or Mac or from the drop down menu on the left on your iPhone and then open the guide you would like to print.
  2. Tap Download PDF or Get PDF.
  3. If you are printing the guide from your iPhone or iPad, tap the Share icon and select Print. Then select your printer, check your print settings, and tap Print again.
  4. If you are printing from your computer, click the print icon in the upper-right corner, select your printer, check your print settings, and then click Print.

How to Access & Watch Video Guides

We recommend watching videos on your computer so you can easily follow along and try out the steps on your Apple device as you watch.

Accessing our library of video guides is simple:

  1. Log in to insider.iphonelife.com.
  2. Select Guides from the navigation bar on your iPad or Mac or from the drop down menu on the left on your iPhone. From here you will see all our guides starting with our most recent guides.
  3. Tap or click on a guide to view the videos.
  4. Press play to start watching the guide videos.
  5. Don't forget to leave feedback after each video so we can keep making our guides for helpful for Insiders.
  6. Tap or click Next to continue to the next video.
  7. On your iPhone, tap Guide Content at the top of the screen to view all the videos in each section.
  8. On your Mac of iPad, you can view all the videos in the sidebar on the left of the screen.

Pro Tip

To watch your video in landscape mode on your iPhone or iPad, first open Control Center and make sure that Portrait Orientation Lock is off. Then select the Full Screen icon, turn your phone or iPad sideways, and press play.

How to Enable Closed Captions

We offer closed captions in order to make it easier for you to follow along as you watch the video. To enable closed captions, select the closed caption icon at the bottom right of the video frame.
