How to Set Ringtones for Contacts (2023)

​​iPhone ringtones can be personalized to give each contact their own groove. Assigning a different sound or song to each contact means that you'll immediately know who it is based on their custom ringtone when a friend calls. You can set as many or as few personalized ringtones for your iPhone contacts as you want!

These steps will teach you how to set a certain ringtone for a contact on your iPhone:

  1. Open Contacts app.

  2. Tap the contact you want to assign a custom ringtone to.

  3. Tap Edit.

    Select Ringtone.
     
  4. Select Ringtone.

  5. Under Ringtones, select the one you want.

  7. Tap Done again to save your changes.
