How to iMessage Fireworks

For iMessage effects to work, you must be texting someone who is also on an iPhone. How do you know? If your iPhone text bubble is blue, you are good to go.  If it is green, it means your recipient is on an Android device (or you have iMessage turned off) and it will not work. 1. Open the Messages app.

  3. If you're starting a new message, enter the name of at least one recipient.

  4. If you are messaging another iPhone user it will say New iMessage at the top of the screen, which confirms that the recipient will be able to see your screen effects. (If you selected an existing conversation, you should be able to tell if the effects will work based on the color of the bubbles in the conversation—blue for iMessage, green for SMS.)
