How to Organize Podcasts on the iPhone into Stations

People are asking how to organize podcasts on the iPhone with the Apple Podcast app. If you have a long morning commute or like to listen to podcasts while you're out and about, having to stop what you're doing to switch podcasts can get annoying. That’s where the ability to create your own stations or playlists comes in handy. You can organize podcasts into stations that allow you to easily find the type of podcast you want to listen to. A recent change to my schedule has me commuting an extra two hours a week. Instead of looking at the extra time as an annoyance, I decided to make more use of the Podcasts app on my iPhone. However, the more subscriptions I have, the less organized they are in the Podcasts app. I have a variety of Podcasts on my iPhone, but I don’t want to be listen to meditation Podcasts while I’m driving down the road. Here’s how to organize podcasts into stations on iPhone.

How to Use Stations in the Apple Podcast App

  1. Open the Podcasts app. If the Podcast app is missing, you can reinstall it from the App Store.

  2. Tap on Library at the bottom of the screen.

  3. In the upper right corner, tap Edit.

  4. Tap New Station

  5. Type the title you want for your new station, then tap Save.
  6. At the bottom of your Station Settings, under Podcasts, tap Choose Podcasts.

  7. Tap on any of the podcasts you want to include in your station. When you’re finished, tap Back

  8. Then tap the name of your station in the upper left corner to go back again.

  9. Tap Library in the upper left corner to go back yet again.


  10. Now tap Done. Under Library, you’ll see the name of your new station.
