There are plenty of apps whose purpose is solely to let you see the stores and restaurants in your area. But Apple has also added that capability to the Apple Maps app. You can easily use Apple Maps to see nearby services for Food, Shopping, Coffee, Gas, and more. Here’s how to get Apple Maps suggestions.

  • Open the Apple Maps app.

  • Tap the Search bar.

  • Nearby services icons will appear such as Food, Shopping, and Health

  • Some of the services have subcategories such as Shopping. When you tap Shopping, more options within that category appear such as Shopping Centers, Groceries, and Sporting Goods.

  • Select a subcategory (if available) to see your options.

  • The map will appear with a red pin designated for each search result.

  • (To see a list of your options, tap Show List at bottom center.)

  • From there, you can tap into any location and get directions to the place or more information about it. Simply tap the location from the list or tap the red pin. Then select the location’s name that pops up. From that screen, you’ll see Yelp reviews, average price, hours open, phone number, address, and more.
