How to Customize Themes in the Apple Books App on iPhone & iPad

Here's how to change themes in the Books app (formerly iBooks) so you can focus on your reading in the way that works best for you.

1. Open the Books app.
   
   
2. Open the book you'd like to read from the Want to Read in the Reading Now tab, or from the Library tab.
   
   
3. Tap the Menu icon at the bottom-right corner of the page. 
   
   
4. Tap Themes & Settings.
   
   
5. Now you can choose from Original, Quiet, Paper, Bold, Calm, or Focus themes.
   
   
6. Tap each Books theme to get a preview, then tap the X when you've chosen. 
   
   

The Books app will save the theme you've chosen, so all of your books will display in the theme you like the best.
