How to Quickly Select & Edit Text with 3D Touch on the iPhone

For those who have an iPhone with 3D Touch, selecting text for editing has never been easier. With i3D Touch, you can turn your keyboard into a trackpad in most Apple apps and use your finger to highlight the words you need to edit. Here’s how to quickly select and edit text with 3D Touch on iPhone.

How to Quickly Select & Edit Text with 3D Touch

  • Firmly press on the keyboard to turn it into a trackpad.
  • Slide your finger around the trackpad to move the cursor where you want it.

  • To select and highlight words, Force Touch the trackpad with the cursor over the word you want to highlight (it may take some practice to press just right). Moving your finger on the trackpad will allow you to highlight an entire section. 

  • Lift your finger when you’re finished.
  • Tap the selection to bring up the editing options menu.

Now you can use 3D Touch to quickly select and edit text!
