How to Use SOS on Apple Watch to Call Emergency Services

  • Press and hold the side button on Apple Watch.

  • A menu will pop up with three options: Power Off, Medical ID, and Emergency SOS.

  • To call emergency services, you can either continue to hold down the side button, which will activate a countdown that when finished will call emergency services. Or slide the option Emergency SOS to place the call.

  • If you start an emergency call by accident, firmly press the Apple Watch screen. When it says End Call? Tap Yes.

You can also add emergency contacts to your Medical ID. They will be alerted after you’ve placed an emergency call. You can also turn off the Hold to Auto Call feature within the Watch app on your iPhone.
