If you alternate between listening to music and podcasts or web conferences, there's a pair of headphones for that. ONANOFF sent me a review unit of its Fokus headphones ($49.99) to try. The name is appropriate, as at the flick of a button, you can switch between music and voice modes, to emphasize bass sound or spoken words, alternatively. Additionally, they are covered in stylish gray fabric on the earcups, exterior, and headband. I found them quite comfortable to wear for a long time, in part due to the fabric, but also because the earcups go around my ears instead of resting on them.

They are not Bluetooth wireless headphones, so you need a 3.5mm adapter for your iPhone. But you don't have to worry about battery life. While you can find cheaper wired headphones and even cheaply made wireless ones, given the quality, the Fokus headphones are reasonably priced.
While they were pleasant to use when listening to both music and voice, I tried them on a webinar and the attendees told me that the microphone wasn't great. The microphone is on the front-exterior of the earcup, instead of a boom microphone, so I wouldn't rely on it for that use case. Also, the play/pause button is close to audio type toggle switch, so I accidentally hung up on a phone call when trying to change to voice. I'm sure I would get the hang of it with more use, but it was a surprise.
Pros
- Comfortable fabric on earcups, exterior ,and headband
- Comfortable over ear design
- Special button for spoken audio
- Reasonably priced
Cons
- 3.5mm connection only
- Microphone isn't great
- Play/pause button is close to audio type toggle switch
Final Verdict
The Fokus from Onanoff is a good choice if you listen to music and voice, and can use a 3.5mm wired headset.
