How to Electronically Sign a PDF in the Preview App

Need to sign a PDF on the go? Apple's new Preview app has you covered. Here's how to digitally sign a PDF on your iPhone or iPad.

  1. Open the Preview app. open the preview app
  2. Tap the Browse tab. tap the browse tab
  3. Tap the PDF or the folder the PDF is in, then tap the PDF. tap the pdf you want to sign
  4. Be sure that the page you want to sign is the page on your screen, then tap the Markup icon. tap markup icon in preview
  5. Tap the plus sign. tap the plus icon to add a signature
  6. Tap Add Signature. tap add signature
  7. Tap Add or Remove Signature. tap add or remove signature
  8. Tap the plus sign. tap plus icon to add your signature
  9. Sign your name with your finger, then tap the check mark in the blue circle. tap check mark after entering your signature
  10. Your signature will appear on your PDF; touch and hold the signature, then drag it to the place you want your signature to appear. Use the gray dots at the corner of the signature to shrink or enlarge it. drag and drop signature where needed
  11. Tap the screen to get rid of the box around your signature, then tap the Share icon to share your PDF wherever needed. tap share icon to share signed pdf
