We all love chatting on the phone with friends and family, but sometimes you just can't talk. Instead of declining calls and then going to the Messages app to type out a message, you can set up Respond with Text in the Phone app. This allows you to set up a custom text response that you can send directly from the incoming call screen of your iPhone.

Why You'll Love This Tip

  • When you cannot answer the phone, quickly let a caller know important information with just a tap of a button.
  • Create up to three custom text responses for when you can't get to an incoming call.
  • Prevent repeated calls or worried callers by setting up custom messages you can send from the incoming call screen.

  6. When someone calls you, tap the call notification if it's not full screen, then tap the more icon. tap more icon in call
  7. Tap Message. tap message in menu
