How to See Deleted Calls on iPhone

Unlike Messages and Photos on the iPhone, there's no way to easily recover a deleted call log. Once you have deleted your call history, the only way to view your call history is to revert your iPhone to a previous backup from before you deleted the calls. Because this is a fair amount of work, I recommend only restoring a backup if the deleted calls are important and there's no other way to retrieve the numbers (such as messaging someone on social media).

Be cautious of third-party apps that claim to recover deleted call history, since this requires giving them access to your personal data. For most people, the best option is to to revert to a previous backup to retrieve the deleted phone calls.

How to Recover Call History on iPhone via iCloud Backup

Using Finder on your Mac, you can restore a backup to your iPhone from iCloud or from the computer. This is the simplest way to restore your iPhone from iCloud or another backup.

  • How can I view my call history? You can view your recent calls by going to the Recents tab in the Phone app. Your iPhone will save recent calls from up to 180 days ago.
  • How long does deleted history stay on the iPhone? Deleted messages and photos stay on the iPhone for up to thirty days. However, deleted phone calls will disappear permanently unless you restore your iPhone to a previous backup.
  • Is there a way to see deleted texts? There's an easy way to view and recover deleted text messages on your iPhone. To view recently deleted texts, open the Messages app, tap "Edit", then select "Show Recently Deleted". You'll be able to view texts that were deleted within the last thirty days.

And that's how to find deleted calls on iPhone! While this is currently the best method, hopefully, Apple will develop a simpler way to access your recently deleted iPhone calls.
