How to Create a Schedule in the Journal App

The Journal app, which was released with iOS 17.2, is a great way to keep a log of events with pictures, links, and other media that you can lock behind your iPhone's passcode. However, if you'd like to improve your journal-keeping consistency, here's how to create a schedule in the new Journal app.

Create a Schedule in the Journal App

System Requirements

To access the Journal app, you must download iOS 17.2 on your iPhone. Learn how to update to the latest iOS.

  1. On your iPhone, open Settings.

  2. Tap Journal.

  3. Tap Journaling Schedule.

  4. Toggle on Schedule.

  5. Tap the time to edit the time of day you'd like to write in your journal.

  6. Tap the days of the week you'd like to write in your journal.

  7. To turn on notifications for your journaling schedule, tap Go to Settings.

  8. Toggle on Allow Notifications

  9. From here, you can make additional edits to the notification style or tap Journal to return to the Journal settings menu and tap Journaling Schedule again.

  10. Choose which days you'd like to receive Journal schedule notifications.

And that's all there is to it! Now, you will receive a reminder to write in the Journal app on that day at the time you set. Happy journaling!
