How to Browse the iPhone Files App on Multiple Devices

With the Files app, you can store notes, images, documents, and other files to your iPhone and browse those items on other devices like your iPad or your Mac. To access items stored in the Files app, you'll need to enable iCloud Drive on your iPhone as well as your Mac or any other device you want to use to browse the Files app. Let's get started with how to access the contents of your iPhone's Files app on multiple devices.

How to Browse Your iPhone's Files App on Multiple Devices:

  1. On your iPhone or iPad, open Settings.
  2. Tap your Apple ID.
  3. Scroll down and make sure iCloud Drive is toggled on.


     
  4. Now you can view the contents of the Files app on other iCloud Drive enabled devices.

To browse the contents of your Files app on the Mac, you'll need to enable iCloud Drive on the Mac as well.

How to Enable iCloud Drive on the Mac:

  1. On your Mac, open the Apple menu.
  2. Select System Preferences.


     
  3. Open iCloud. If prompted, sign in with your Apple ID.


     
  4. Make sure the checkmark box to for iCloud Drive is selected.


     
  5. To view the contents of your Files app on the Mac, open the iCloud Drive folder inside Finder.


     

Now you can use iCloud Drive on the Mac to view all the items saved to the Files app on your iPhone and iPad!
