How to Make Emails Easier to Find Again Later

If you've ever searched your inbox for an email you're certain you did not delete, but couldn't see it on the list, consider your email-flagging habits. If you know you're going to want to return to an email later, you can make it easier to find when searching your inbox by flagging it. Here’s how to make emails easier to find again later.

Flagged emails aren’t prioritized in the results list. That means if they are older, they won’t appear at the top. Or, if you're already in the habit of flagging emails, you can get carried away with marking them and end up having so many flagged emails that they’re lost in the mix. But, if you look under Mailboxes in the mail app, you’ll see a folder dedicated to flagged emails that makes it easy to find them. If you don't see the Flagged folder, tap Edit in the upper right corner, select Flagged, and then tap Done.

To flag an email, all you need to do is swipe left and select Flag. An orange dot will appear next to the email letting you know it’s been flagged. From then on, you’ll be able to find it in the special Flagged mailbox.
