What to Know

  • According to rumors and leaks, Apple will announce up to 18 new products in 2026.
  • We are expecting a new lineup of iPhones that might include Apple's first folding phone.
  • A brand new touchscreen Home Hub and Smart Home Camera might be coming out towards the end of the year.

Apple announces new products annually, but this year might bring us a lot of never-before-seen devices. Joining the Apple ecosystem in 2026 is the new iPhone 18 lineup, which might include a folding phone, Apple Watch Series 12, iPad mini 8, HomePod mini 2, Apple TV 4K, a touchscreen OLED MacBook Pro, a new Home Hub, and a Smart Home Camera. Keep reading to learn more about each product.

When Will Apple Release New Devices in 2026?

While Apple can sometimes make unexpected decisions, it has a pretty structured annual release schedule. During the WWDC keynote, which will take place virtually on June 8th at 10 a.m. PT, Apple will announce upcoming software updates. This event may reveal some hints about the products that the new software will be running on.

The next big Apple event will happen this fall, likely in September. This is when we expect Apple to release the new iPhone 18 lineup, Apple Watch Series 12, iPad mini 8, HomePod mini, Apple TV 4K, and potentially a brand-new product resembling the HomePod but with a touchscreen. On the day or week of the event, the software updates announced at June's WWDC will become available to the public.

According to rumors, we might be getting Apple's first touchscreen MacBook Pro and a smart home security camera later this year. There are some other upcoming devices that we know are coming, but we're not sure if they'll be here this year or next. This includes Mac Studio with an M5 Max and M5 Ultra chips, Mac mini, iPad 12, AirPods 5, AirPods Pro, Apple Watch Ultra 4, and M5 Max iMac, and potentially smart AI glasses that will be more like Ray-Ban Meta than Apple's own Vision Pro.

Since this is all based on speculation and the occasional leak, we will not know which exact products we'll be getting in 2026 until Apple officially announces their release. Apple might also have something completely unexpected up its sleeve, and we'll just have to wait and see. Until then, here's what we do know (or think we know) about the upcoming products.

iPhone 18 Lineup + iPhone Fold

Every year, Apple's biggest event happens in the fall and announces the new iPhones. For a few years, we've consistently gotten four new models annually, although sometimes, the budget iPhone is announced in the spring following the big fall event. This year, we'll be getting the iPhone 18 lineup, which will include a baseline model, a Pro version or two, and if rumors are true, the long-awaited folding iPhone will be the star of Apple's fall event. We might also see a new budget option called the iPhone 18e (formerly the iPhone SE) in either fall 2026 or spring 2027.

The iPhone Fold has been rumored for years, but Apple experts are more confident than ever that the foldable iPhone is coming out this year. Feature-wise, it shouldn't be too different from a regular non-origami iPhone, but we can expect a unique interface to take advantage of the extra display real estate. Bloomberg's Mark Gurman tweeted in early April that Apple is still on track to release the iPhone Fold this September. But Apple has been known to delay features and devices, and since the folding iPhone will likely cost $2,500+, we can expect them to make sure they get it right before the official release.

We already know that the new iPhone lineup will finally have the smarter Siri that Apple promised customers over two years ago. It has already been announced that Google's Gemini AI will power the new Siri, and if it works as well as it should, we might be looking at a lot of new, exciting AI features coming to iPhones and other devices.

There are also whispers that the high-end models are getting a camera upgrade that will make the signature three-lens setup function more like an old-school DSLR. Finally, Gurman, who is known for his reliability in Apple device predictions, believes that this year's "Cosmic Orange" will be a dark cherry red. New Apple Watch Models

We have gotten two or more new Apple Watch models annually for the past few years, and 2026 is expected to be no different. In addition to the Apple Watch Series 12, we might be getting the fourth version of the Apple Watch Ultra and a new budget or entry-level watch.

There haven't really been any leaks or rumors about the new Apple Watch models, which makes sense if Apple is all in on brand-new products like the iPhone Fold, Home Hub, and Smart Home Camera. We might get some new AI-powered tweaks to existing features, but the biggest change we expect to see is a new chip to boost performance without sacrificing battery life, or maybe even with a small extension in battery life.

We might also not get all three new Apple Watch models this September. It is possible that the new Apple Watch SE (unless they call it Apple Watch 12e following the budget iPhone name change) will come out in spring 2027 instead.

Personally, I am not too excited about an Apple Watch Ultra 4 just because there have not been significant changes since it was initially released. I would prefer to have Apple wait and wow us with a new design and/or features in the fall of 2027.

A Poolside-Friendly iPad mini 8

The biggest changes coming to the newest iPad mini 8 are an OLED display, which has been unique to newer iPad Pro models, an improved speaker system, and better water resistance. The dream would be a waterproof iPad that can play music loudly and clearly at the pool or beach, but that is probably a stretch.

Hopefully, the iPad mini 8 will be (almost) as water-resistant as the latest iPhones, meaning it could survive a shallow dip in water for a limited time. While I'm not an audiophile, it is my understanding that Apple is introducing a vibration-based speaker that eliminates the need for speaker grilles, which in turn makes the device more water-resistant. Fingers crossed that this won't affect audio quality or volume levels.

Touchscreen OLED MacBook Pro

One of the several 'firsts' rumored for a 2026 release is Apple's first touchscreen MacBook Pro! While touchscreen computers have existed since 1983, Apple is known for taking existing technology, perfecting it, and giving it that luxurious feel. So if we are getting an OLED MacBook Pro, we can expect great things.

What gives pause is that Apple has been giving MacBooks more iOS and iPadOS features while giving iPads Mac-style productivity features, essentially blurring the line between laptops and tablets over the past few years. So, since we already have iPad Pros with Magic Keyboard that are basically mini laptops (with a better chip than the entry-level MacBook Neo, I should add), the idea of having an iPad-like MacBook seems unnecessary.

Hopefully, Apple will be able to combine the power of a MacBook Pro with the familiar touch gestures we already use on our iPhone and iPad, and create the ultimate multitasking powerhouse. As a dabbler in digital art, I'm hoping this means that the OLED MacBook Pros will be getting their very own Procreate app that's compatible with Apple Pencils or third-party styluses.

At-Home Apple Products

While some Apple users tend to skip some of the more obscure products, my Apple ecosystem would not be complete without HomePods and my Apple TV. While there hasn't been much said about the new Apple TV K or the HomePod mini 2, we can assume that we'll be getting new chips that will improve overall performance. As a maximalist decorator, I also hope that we'll see some new, exciting, bright colors.

While Apple hasn't confirmed this, Gurman has been saying since the fall of 2025 that we'd eventually get a bunch of new smart home devices. Ming-Chi Kuo, another well-known Apple analyst, has also predicted that we'll get a HomePod with an iPad-style touch screen, and hopefully, we'll be able to add this Apple Home Hub to our 2026 Christmas wishlists!

Finally, Apple might be adding a Smart Home Camera to the ecosystem. As someone with a Ring doorbell camera and lots of pet-watching Furbos, I would love a camera that is better integrated with all my Apple products. Imagine being able to watch the camera live from Apple TV or via window-in-window on a Mac, iPad, or iPhone! While Apple hasn't promised anything like this yet, the rumor mill is going wild with talk of a home camera, and I am hoping we'll actually get one as soon as possible.

Other Upcoming Apple Devices

I couldn't possibly mention every single rumored device in one article, and since everyone is so focused on the folding iPhone, there hasn't been as much said about new AirPods. We also know that the Vision Pro did not do as well as Apple expected, so while we don't expect Vision Pro 3s, some leakers like Gurman do expect that Apple will try again with smart AI glasses. But that might not happen until late 2027 or even later in the future.

With technology growing and changing at lightning speed, especially with the boom in AI, it can be hard to keep up with everything that is coming out. While we aren't 100% sure that we'll be seeing ANY of the products mentioned above, our many years of Apple expertise as a company, combined with predictions by Gurman and Kuo, give us a pretty good idea of what devices are coming later this year. Stay tuned as we will cover each Apple device release as well as tips and tricks on making the most of every product you own!
