Apple Watch Series 11 & Ultra 3 Rumor Roundup

What to Know

  • Apple is expected to reveal a new Apple Watch SE, Apple Watch Series 11, and Apple Watch Ultra 3.
  • The new lineup of Apple Watches will likely be revealed at Apple's September 9 "Awe Dropping" event.
  • Apple Watch Series 11 and Apple Watch Ultra 3 are rumored to have 5G connectivity and possibly blood pressure detection.

It’s nearly September, which means new Apple Watches are right around the corner. We’re excited to see what Apple has in store for its new wearable. Apple is expected to reveal a new version of the Apple Watch SE, as well as the Apple Watch Series 11 and Apple Watch Ultra 3. Today, we’re going over the latest rumors surrounding these devices.

A New Apple Watch SE

Mark Gurman believes we’ll see a new version of Apple’s budget-friendly wearable, the Apple Watch SE. The new SE will have a new look, while the Series 11 and Ultra 3 are expected to look about the same as the current lineup of Apple Watches.

Apple Watch SE, Series 11 & Ultra 3 Release Date

Apple is expected to hold an event on September 9, 2025, where it will reveal the Apple Watch Series 11 and Apple Watch Ultra 3, alongside its lineup of new iPhones. Preorders will likely begin that Friday, with a release date set for Friday of the next week, meaning we’ll probably see the new Apple Watches drop around September 19.

Upcoming Apple Watch Sizes & Pricing

The Apple Series 11 and Ultra 3 will likely be the same size as their predecessors, which means the Series 11 should have a 42mm case for its smaller watch, while the larger case will be 45mm. The Apple Watch Ultra 3 comes in one size, which should be a 49mm case, but, according to MacRumors, the display will be larger. The Apple Watch SE currently comes in 40mm and 44mm case options, though I would not be surprised if Apple increases the size to match the Series 11.

Despite tariff concerns, there haven’t been any rumors of a price increase for the upcoming Apple Watches. The current Apple Watch Series 10 starts at $399, and the Apple Watch Ultra 2 starts at $799. For now, you can expect to pay similar prices for the next iteration of the Apple Watch.

Could the New Apple Watch Support 5G Connectivity?

While the current lineup of iPhones supports 5G connectivity, the cellular version of the Apple Watch Series 10 is only compatible with 4G LTE networks. However, the latest rumors suggest that that will be changing with the Apple Watch Series 11 and Ultra 3. The two newest wearables are expected to come equipped with chips from MediaTek, which will allow the watches to use 5G RedCap, a service designed specifically to provide 5G connectivity to smart wearables. If you prefer the cellular Apple Watch, this upgrade should give you faster internet speeds.

Blood Pressure Detection

It feels like every year, there is a rumor about the new Apple Watch having blood pressure detection, and this year is no different. According to Mark Gurman, Apple Watch Series 11 and likely the Ultra 3 are rumored to have new sensors that can detect if you have high blood pressure. However, because this feature seems to be rumored every year, I’m not holding my breath that we’ll get it this year either.

That’s all we have so far, and I’m sure Apple still has a few surprises up its sleeve. In any case, we’ll find out more during Apple’s September event. To stay up to date on the latest iPhone and Apple Watch news, be sure to sign up for our free Tip of the Day newsletter.
