Review: iChair iPad Case & Stand

image

Just last month, a company called iChair launched a case series they call the iChair. The iChair is a multipurpose slider case which also has some extras. They created one for the iPad, iPhone and iPod Touch. The folks at iChair sent me the iPad case to evaluate. The first thing that came to my mind when I opened the package was an Incase Slider hooked up with a silicone case. But it’s actually much more than that which I will present below.

I found a video they created in their media kit of an unboxing.

News Tidbits Again...

image

Been finishing up a review of the HTC HD7 over at our other blog and recovering from CES, so have been neglecting some of my usual news updates this week (er, and last), so here is a shotgun update. In summary, Trident released a new iPod case (the Aegis) for 4G.

Review: Push Panic by Appular

image

I don’t know if you ever run into this problem or not, but due to the sheer volume of games I go through, it often takes me a while to play many of the games I own.  Then when I finally do, I sometimes think to myself “wow, I wish I would have played this game sooner”.  If you haven’t guessed yet, Push Panic is one of those games.  The concept is simple, yet it’s a fresh take on the matching genre that really sets a new standard for this type of game.  Add to that four different game play modes, social network integration and a snazzy appearance and you have a causal gaming experience that no one should miss.

Free tax app from H&R Block

image

H&R Block offers a free app, Tax Central, that gives answers to popular questions, includes a tax refund estimator, and offers a checklist of key filing dates and materials needed. It also has a glossary of tax terms, and, of course, information to contact your nearest H&R Block rep. And there are links to entertaining videos on YouTube that contain useful tax information.

iDos Emulator gets pulled a second time from the Appstore

image

I’ve had wonderful memories when as a kid, I spent several blissful years with my IBM PC XT clone experimenting with Dos programming and played cutting edge games like Ultima IV , Wizardry, Autoduel and Star Control. The iDOS emulator ported by Fast Intelligence was able to deliver an unmatched wave of nostalgia and within a day of installing iDOS on my Ipad, I was trying out some of these classics again – mostly just to see them again in all their glory - 256 VGA colour and adlib sound.

Microsoft OneNote for iOS

image

I spotted this over at Macrumors today. Microsoft released a version of OneNote for iOS today. It’s apparently only available through the US iTunes store and it’s free for a limited time. I just downloaded it while it’s free so I could have it for future use.

Strange Rain Review

image

Some of the more jaded iPhone application critics (of which at times I claim to be one of these) complain that there are no new, truly creative interactive experiences on the iPhone anymore. With literally hundreds of thousands of applications to choose from in the App Store, hasn't every pixel pushing design already been manifested? Strange Rain answers those critics with a resounding 'No' thanks to its torrent of creativity and captivating, imaginative gameplay.

Everything iPhone - Apps, Accessories, Reviews, Wallpapers etc | iPhone Life Magazine

The iPhone has become a benchmark for all other smartphones to compete with.  Reviews on the cases, accessories, apps, wallpapers and more are located below.  Here are a couple of Articles that showcase what we have to offer.  For eaxample, iPhone 4S by Alex Cequea (iPhone Life Magazine Editor in Chief).

In that article, Alex says that the iPhone 4S has the exact same physical form factor as the iPhone 4. However, the insides are a whole different story, and Apple tried to make that very clear. The most notable improvements are the 8MP camera with 1080p video recording, the A5 dual-core processor (same as the iPad 2), and an improved battery life (8 hours of 3G talk time, 200 hours of standby). As far as the capabilities, the new Siri Assistant feature was the highlight of the show. The Siri Assistant recognizes natural language and can answer questions such as, "What's the temperature out today?" Combined with the phone's GPS, you can say something like, "Remind me to call my wife when I get to work." The Assistant will not only know who your "wife" is, it'll also know where "work" is and pop up a reminder to "call Marcy" when you get there."

Here's another great article, The Best iPhone 4 Cases. This article goes on to explain that like its iPhone predecessors, cases have become one of the most popular ways to accessorize your cell phone. Most cell phone consumers buy a case bundled with their new phone to protect it from day one. And who can blame them? Mobile devices have become hugely valuable and expensive items; you want to protect them the best way you can. There are literally hundreds of cases on the market. Let's examine the different options available on the market to help you choose the one that's right for you.

What to know how to create your own app?  "The first step in creating an app is to understand what you want to create and how you will measure its success. Make sure the idea is well vetted and there is a solid business case behind it. There are roughly 600 new apps submitted to Apple each day—what is going to differentiate your app from the thousands that are already available and being launched each week? Here are some questions you’ll want to ask when getting your app idea..."
