Apple Music Festival September 19–28

Apple is again offering a free music festival this year featuring top performing artists. Those in London can attend the Apple Music Festival in person, and the rest of us can stream for free, both live and on-demand. Slated for September 19–28, the festival will feature Pharrell Williams, One Direction, Florence + The Machine, and Disclosure. You'll be able to stream the event via the Music app, as well as via the iTunes software and Apple TV. Plus, you can follow the festival on Beats 1, as well as get a "virtual backstage pass" by following the festival in Apple Music's Connect and in iTunes — bringing you exclusive videos, photos, and behind-the-scenes access to your favorite artists.

“We wanted to do something really special for music fans this year,” said Eddy Cue, Apple’s senior vice president of Internet Software and Services. “The Apple Music Festival is a greatest hits set of ten unbelievable nights featuring some of the best performers on the planet appearing live and interacting directly with their fans on Connect and Beats 1.”

Originally called the iTunes Festival, the event was renamed this year in honor of the new Apple Music app. In the past it had been a full 30 days, but has been shortened to 10 this year. UK residents can apply to win tickets on Apple Music as well as through media partners including the London Evening Standard. The iTunes Festival started at London’s Institute of Contemporary Arts in 2007, and has seen over 550 artists perform in front of more than half a million fans and tens of millions more online and on-demand. Past performers include Adele, Beck, Coldplay, Elton John, Foo Fighters, Justin Timberlake, Kings of Leon, Lady Gaga, Katy Perry, Maroon 5, Muse, Sir Paul McCartney, and many more.
