Price Check by Amazon -- free app lets you find prices via voice, bar code, photo, or product name

image

If you're shopping and wonder whether the item you're considering could be more cheaply purchased via Amazon, a new app helps you do just that. Price Check by Amazon (free) lets you search for the product you have in mind in four different ways: you can say the name of the product, use the iPhone's camera to read the bar code, take a photo of the item, or enter the name of the product. The app uses the same voice recognition technology that powers the popular Dragon NaturallySpeaking. (iPhone 4 and 3GS only)

Preview: Dino Rush by Nemoid Studio

image

On November 26th you’ll be treated to a new distance running game in the form of Dino Rush, and I have to say that the game does a decent job of setting itself apart from similar games.  You play a little dinosaur that has a series of missions to complete, but it just so happens that you’re always hungry.  To keep your strength up you must consume all the fruit you can find, as well as avoid all the other nasty dinosaurs and things like quicksand and lava.  You’ll receive various power ups like a spiked helmet, fruit magnet and super-dinosaur suit that will help you in your quest (and are often imperative to your survival).

ARK iPhone case not just for a rainy day

image

It's a rainy day here in Upstate New York so naturally thoughts turn to building an Ark.  A funky design firm named ARKWHAT has done just that, for the iPhone 4.  Think Motorola Startac if made by Nerf! This chunky but colorful case actually serves several purposes.  You won't lose your iPhone.  If you drop it, you probably will be okay.  There's even a drop test video on YouTube!  And while I wouldn't recommend trying it, it just might float.  But it's not waterproof so don't rely on that.

The real magic of Harry Potter

image

The real "trick" that JK Rowling was able to perform was to print money.  The books, movies, merchandise, and theme park have all taken a good chunk of my income.  But I am okay with that.  At least I'm supporting a literary endeavor as my oldest daughter reads as fast as Ms. Rowling can write them, if not faster.

HootSuite is now my new best friend when it comes to Twitter applications. The interface is clean and easy to understand and I can manage all my social networking sites in one app. I have been using HootSuite (free) on my iPod Touch and online for some time but couldn't take using it on my iPad in the iPhone mode......but no more. They just came out with an iPad rewrite that is glorious.

Everything iPhone - Apps, Accessories, Reviews, Wallpapers etc | iPhone Life Magazine

The iPhone has become a benchmark for all other smartphones to compete with.  Reviews on the cases, accessories, apps, wallpapers and more are located below.  Here are a couple of Articles that showcase what we have to offer.  For eaxample, iPhone 4S by Alex Cequea (iPhone Life Magazine Editor in Chief).

In that article, Alex says that the iPhone 4S has the exact same physical form factor as the iPhone 4. However, the insides are a whole different story, and Apple tried to make that very clear. The most notable improvements are the 8MP camera with 1080p video recording, the A5 dual-core processor (same as the iPad 2), and an improved battery life (8 hours of 3G talk time, 200 hours of standby). As far as the capabilities, the new Siri Assistant feature was the highlight of the show. The Siri Assistant recognizes natural language and can answer questions such as, "What's the temperature out today?" Combined with the phone's GPS, you can say something like, "Remind me to call my wife when I get to work." The Assistant will not only know who your "wife" is, it'll also know where "work" is and pop up a reminder to "call Marcy" when you get there."

Here's another great article, The Best iPhone 4 Cases. This article goes on to explain that like its iPhone predecessors, cases have become one of the most popular ways to accessorize your cell phone. Most cell phone consumers buy a case bundled with their new phone to protect it from day one. And who can blame them? Mobile devices have become hugely valuable and expensive items; you want to protect them the best way you can. There are literally hundreds of cases on the market. Let's examine the different options available on the market to help you choose the one that's right for you.

What to know how to create your own app?  "The first step in creating an app is to understand what you want to create and how you will measure its success. Make sure the idea is well vetted and there is a solid business case behind it. There are roughly 600 new apps submitted to Apple each day—what is going to differentiate your app from the thousands that are already available and being launched each week? Here are some questions you’ll want to ask when getting your app idea..."
