With iOS 10 on iPhone, your Photos app has a new album called People. This allows you to easily find photos of people in network as it organizes photos of the same person in separate sub-albums. But what if, for whatever reason, the Photos app isn’t able to detect a person in the photos? You can add that friend to the People album yourself. Here’s how to do it.
How to Add Friends to the People Album
Open the photos app and navigate to the Albums tab. Tap on the album named People.
Here you’ll see the sub-albums, each with all the photos you have of that person. If the Photos app is missing a person that you want to add, tap the big plus sign with the label Add People.
You’ll see a list of people your phone wants to add. Tap on the person or people you want to add. Tap Add in the lower right corner.
Now you can click on that person to see all the photos your phone has of them.
If you know you have more photos of that person that aren’t showing up, it’s likely your phone has simply grouped their photos into sub-albums it thinks are several different people. You can add all the sub-albums you see of that person and then merge them into one using this tip on how to merge people in your People Albums.
