How to Delete Duplicate Photos on Mac

No one likes scrolling through their photos on their Mac and coming across duplicates. Luckily, Apple has made this easy in the Photos app on Mac by creating a folder called "Duplicates" that allows you to see all the duplicate photos in your library and merge them into one photo. Here's how to find and remove duplicate photos in the Photos app on Mac.

To use this tip, you'll need a Mac running Ventura or later.

  1. On your Mac, open the Photos app.

  2. In the side bar navigation menu, click Duplicates.

  3. From here, you can scroll through the photos and click Merge to merge them individually.

  4. Alternatively, to merge all photo duplicates at once, click Edit.

  6. Then, click Merge X Items in the top right corner.
