Stop taking pictures and start taking works of art with CanvasPop!

If Yogi Berra were to assess today's use of cameras he might say: "Nobody takes photographs anymore... they're too busy taking pictures."  If you're like me, you have thousands of digital pictures stored on hard drives and online galleries but only print a tiny fraction of them.  Once in a while we'll find "a keeper" and enlarge it to 11"x14" and frame it, but by and large, photos stay on the computer and maybe a digital photo frame.

iStart Spanish Review

image

As a dabbler of a few languages, I admit that I am not a natural learner. My English is not that good, and it's my native tongue! Anyhoo, I took Spanish in high school, but never could quite get the hang of the tricky rolling r sounds, the masculine and feminine forms, etc. With iStart Spanish on my iPod, I may finally be able to make some progress, and understand some of my wife's favorite TV shows.

Review: The Screetch by Piston Games

image

Hey, I think it’s been over a week since I’ve reviewed a match 3 game.  And if not, oh well.  This time around the victim of my scrutiny is The Screetch, an oddly named match 3 game for sure.  That’s okay, though, because the game itself is actually kind of fun - if not fairly derivative of your basic match 3 formula.  The one thing that makes the game stand out is the screetch itself, and for now that’s enough to keep me entertained.

It's official folks, you can have FaceTime on your 3G network if you really want to.

Based on the choppiness of the FaceTime video, it appears to me that this is the reason at&t does not allow this to happen right now. It looks like the 3G network will work great with Data however, not with Video yet. Please read the entire blog first.

Woo Hoo - finally got an iPhone 4 case in pink!

image

My Marware SportGrip Edge arrived today and it’s perfect!

The soft band fits tightly around the iPhone’s edges, so my iPhone still looks like an iPhone. I like that. I think they call this the “minimalist” look.

Although it’s super cool looking, it still provides protection against light bumps for the edges, corners, front and back. Marware even includes two clear protective films, one for front and one for back, as well as a cleaning cloth with the case. The protective films protect against scratches.

Did you know the U.S. Government is creating apps for mobile devices? They currently have 18 apps available including an alternative fuel locator, FBI's Most Wanted, Product Recalls, and WhiteHouse.Gov. Of course, they are all free! Check them out on the US Government Website.

Review: Kensington PowerBolt Micro Charger

image

This is a pretty neat little car charger if you want to charge your devices while on the go. Best of all it chargers a multitude of idevices (as you can see below) including the iPad and the new iPhone 4. I think that adds value.

In my test, I used my iPod Touch and iPad. I had no issues providing power to them from my car. With the purchase, you get the micro plug and a black cable. The cable looks and feels heavy duty, thicker than the standard cable that comes from Apple.

Everything iPhone - Apps, Accessories, Reviews, Wallpapers etc | iPhone Life Magazine

The iPhone has become a benchmark for all other smartphones to compete with.  Reviews on the cases, accessories, apps, wallpapers and more are located below.  Here are a couple of Articles that showcase what we have to offer.  For eaxample, iPhone 4S by Alex Cequea (iPhone Life Magazine Editor in Chief).

In that article, Alex says that the iPhone 4S has the exact same physical form factor as the iPhone 4. However, the insides are a whole different story, and Apple tried to make that very clear. The most notable improvements are the 8MP camera with 1080p video recording, the A5 dual-core processor (same as the iPad 2), and an improved battery life (8 hours of 3G talk time, 200 hours of standby). As far as the capabilities, the new Siri Assistant feature was the highlight of the show. The Siri Assistant recognizes natural language and can answer questions such as, "What's the temperature out today?" Combined with the phone's GPS, you can say something like, "Remind me to call my wife when I get to work." The Assistant will not only know who your "wife" is, it'll also know where "work" is and pop up a reminder to "call Marcy" when you get there."

Here's another great article, The Best iPhone 4 Cases. This article goes on to explain that like its iPhone predecessors, cases have become one of the most popular ways to accessorize your cell phone. Most cell phone consumers buy a case bundled with their new phone to protect it from day one. And who can blame them? Mobile devices have become hugely valuable and expensive items; you want to protect them the best way you can. There are literally hundreds of cases on the market. Let's examine the different options available on the market to help you choose the one that's right for you.

What to know how to create your own app?  "The first step in creating an app is to understand what you want to create and how you will measure its success. Make sure the idea is well vetted and there is a solid business case behind it. There are roughly 600 new apps submitted to Apple each day—what is going to differentiate your app from the thousands that are already available and being launched each week? Here are some questions you’ll want to ask when getting your app idea..."
