thaddeus [dot] com (Hal Goldstein), if you have doubts, questions, or concerns. Please see our Blog Home Page for a list of all our bloggers.
iPhone Life Vendor Network
Soon we will be allowing iPhone related product marketers to post press releases and videos directly on our Web site. Throughout the year, we intend to add more features to this free service, designed to help make iPhone users aware of your company and products. We invite you to apply now. The only thing we ask in exchange is for you to allow us to occasionally E-mail you.
How we create content for the magazine and on-line
IMPORTANT: Most of the content for the magazine and web site comes from end-users -- a team of volunteer iPhone expert writers and bloggers. Our internal staff editors, Hal Goldstein and Rich Hall, see their primary function as soliciting (Hal) and editing (Rich) submitted content. Nathan Clevenger solicits and does the initial edit on professional, enterprise and creating Apps related stories. Each issue evolves organically, based on article submission ideas from end-users and our regular volunteer experts. We do try to create a balance in the sections of the magazine: iPhone/iPod touch hardware; Tips; iTunes, Accessories, Software, Web, Work, People, Creating Apps with special emphasis on Software, Accessories, and Work.
Bloggers simply decide on their own what to write about and then post directly.
Blogs automatically get posted on our iPhone Life Magazine Facebook Fan Page.
Gary Abel retweets blog posts at our Twitter page.
Gary also decides which blogs he will feature in our weekly E-mail newsletter.
Finally, blog posts and articles in past magazines can be read in our iPhone Life app.
How to become an iPhone Life writer or blogger
Any iPhone or iPod touch user is welcome to submit an article idea. See writer's guidelines. However, years of experience has taught us that seldom can someone from within a company create an objective, reader-oriented article involving the company's product. At the same time, developer and vendor companies contain a lot of iPhone expertise. We are always open for article ideas reflecting that expertise, and the bio can plug a company and its products.
To get an idea of what we expect from bloggers, please read our welcome to new bloggers.
Please E-mail hal
thaddeus [dot] com (Hal Goldstein) with your ideas for article and to become a blogger.
Why Advertising may make Sense
Naturally, we want the editorial of the magazine to contain as many useful and fun pieces of software, services and accessories as possible. However, pages are limited, and at this time, we come out only four issues per year. Therefore, if you want the ongoing publicity your product deserves, we strongly recommend you consider advertising. For smaller developers we recommend our "in the Spotlight" section for as little as $199, where at your request, we'll create the ad for you at no charge.
When you advertise, you control your message and you guarantee placement in the issue. You get the prestige of print plus your product becomes part of our digital issue given away free and readable on a desktop or an iPhone. Our 2010-2011 Schedule.
We also have opportunities to promote your product in our Weekly iPhone Life newsletter, this iPhone Life magazine web site, and our sister Windows Mobile site and newsletters. Print advertisers receive a generous discount on all on-line advertising. Rates will never be so affordable.
