image

The Adventure-Proof series examines and reviews the best in rugged iOS gear, apps, and accessories to help iDevice users enjoy outdoor adventures with their mobile tech safely in tow.

The iPhone 5 Armor Series Case ($99.95) certainly lives up to its slogan, as "The Toughest Case Ever Built." This new OtterBox case is waterproof, dust proof, drop proof, and crush proof (as the video below clearly demonstrates), and is emerging as arguably the best protective iPhone case on the market.

How To: Customize Autocorrect, Have Siri Read iBooks to You

image

I want to point you to a couple of extremely useful tips I read on Macworld yesterday.

Improving Your Autocorrect Experience

My first tip comes from Macworld’s article, "How to make iOS autocorrect work for you." It begins with the basics, telling you how to accept or reject the autocorrect and autocomplete suggestions that pop up as you type on your iPhone or iPad. If you type a space, punctuation, or carriage return, you'll automatically invoke the suggestion. If you tap anywhere on the bubble, it goes away.

image

Rumors of a "budget" iPhone continue to gain credence. The latest prediction from a market analyst with a solid track record corroborates earlier reports that Apple is creating a low-cost iPhone for emerging markets with a 4-inch screen and less-expensive materials.

LIBERATION MAIDEN Review - Mega Anime Blasting Fun!

image

Some games draw you in with an engaging storyline or challenging strategy; others, with the adrenaline rush of combat, or simply as a cool way to kill time. In LIBERATION MAIDEN ($4.99), game designers Level-5 went for all of the above. The graphics and anime cut scenes are amazing. The game concept is well developed, and while the storyline may at first be obscure, part of the fun is discovering the history and story as you play. LIBERATION MAIDEN works well with its eye-watering, non-stop action and a screen sprinkled with detailed widgets in and between levels.

Top 4 Reasons to Play Real Racing 3 for iOS

image

After many hours (and quite a few dollars) spent racing in the world of Real Racing 3 (Free), I can confindently say it is a legitimate contender for the coveted award of Best iOS Game of 2013. This game is so visceral, especially the way I race it using the first-person, helmet cam/cockpit perspective.

Between the visual eye candy and the realistic sound effects, I'd say this game blurs the lines between iOS gaming, console gaming, and real life more effectively than any iOS game I've encountered. Where’s a good Virtual Reality headset when you need one?

Rumor: iPhone 5S May Sport Fingerprint Sensor and NFC Chip

image

As rumors go, I'm betting the latest are on the mark. According to AppleInsider, The China Times has reported that the iPhone 5S, rumored to arrive this summer, will come with both a fingerprint sensor and near-field communication chip. According to the report, you'd be able to simply touch your phone to make a payment. The sensor would recognize your touch, and the NFC chip would communicate your authorization to an NFC mobile payment terminal at the point of sale.

Apple Airs Two New iPhone Ads

image

Apple is airing two new commercials featuring an iPhone 5, employing the same rapid-fire word theme it used in recent iPad commercials I posted about. And again, each word is followed by a rapid display of specific apps. The ads are fun and effective, and they show the remarkable diversity of iPhone apps.

Everything iPhone - Apps, Accessories, Reviews, Wallpapers etc | iPhone Life Magazine

The iPhone has become a benchmark for all other smartphones to compete with.  Reviews on the cases, accessories, apps, wallpapers and more are located below.  Here are a couple of Articles that showcase what we have to offer.  For eaxample, iPhone 4S by Alex Cequea (iPhone Life Magazine Editor in Chief).

In that article, Alex says that the iPhone 4S has the exact same physical form factor as the iPhone 4. However, the insides are a whole different story, and Apple tried to make that very clear. The most notable improvements are the 8MP camera with 1080p video recording, the A5 dual-core processor (same as the iPad 2), and an improved battery life (8 hours of 3G talk time, 200 hours of standby). As far as the capabilities, the new Siri Assistant feature was the highlight of the show. The Siri Assistant recognizes natural language and can answer questions such as, "What's the temperature out today?" Combined with the phone's GPS, you can say something like, "Remind me to call my wife when I get to work." The Assistant will not only know who your "wife" is, it'll also know where "work" is and pop up a reminder to "call Marcy" when you get there."

Here's another great article, The Best iPhone 4 Cases. This article goes on to explain that like its iPhone predecessors, cases have become one of the most popular ways to accessorize your cell phone. Most cell phone consumers buy a case bundled with their new phone to protect it from day one. And who can blame them? Mobile devices have become hugely valuable and expensive items; you want to protect them the best way you can. There are literally hundreds of cases on the market. Let's examine the different options available on the market to help you choose the one that's right for you.

What to know how to create your own app?  "The first step in creating an app is to understand what you want to create and how you will measure its success. Make sure the idea is well vetted and there is a solid business case behind it. There are roughly 600 new apps submitted to Apple each day—what is going to differentiate your app from the thousands that are already available and being launched each week? Here are some questions you’ll want to ask when getting your app idea..."
