Just in time for turkey day, Oceanhousemedia gets another digital children's book out. You can read the full PR below on the new Berenstain Bears Give Thanks, or just go grab it in the app store here..."Encinitas, CA (Vocus) November 19, 2010..
I have raved quite a lot this year about the Sonos S5 music system, and I'm about to rave even more, because now there is a Sonos wireless audio dock that fits hand in glove with the S5 system as well as...well...audio does to streaming! Read on for the full review...
HootSuite is now my new best friend when it comes to Twitter applications. The interface is clean and easy to understand and I can manage all my social networking sites in one app. I have been using HootSuite (free) on my iPod Touch and online for some time but couldn't take using it on my iPad in the iPhone mode......but no more. They just came out with an iPad rewrite that is glorious.
Here is a neat item that I think you will find interesting. NewPCgadgets created a Smartphone Coaster. It's made of stainless steel and has some nonslip rubber at the base. It has the word "Smartphone Stand" towards the base of it. It's a simple idea but I am finding that it's a very useful product. A lot of us keep our phones flat on the desk, counter, nightstand etc. This allows you to still keep your device in the same spot but now you have it at a very functional viewing angle.
SPB Software has created a winner app in SPB TV, and now passes the 2 million user mark (also one of my top picks for 2010). Best of all, it is completely free and now built to order for iPad too! The app will likely gain popularity with ever more and more users consuming live TV on their phones and iPads! Full press details follow...
Its conference season and the same two things happen to me at EVERY conference.. First; at some point, the wifi will go down and normally JUST as I need it which makes iphone tethering a MUST and Second; my iphone will run out of battery.
I'm researching an article about the amazing range of ways apps use your iOS camera, from barcode readers and business card scanners to augmented reality and color detection for those who are color blind. This new app released today is yet another great freebie. Shoeboxed Business Card Reader lets you use your camera to take a photo of the card.
Who doesn't remember the planetarium? I thought it was the best school field-trip that was ever conceived, way back when I was a kid (besides the Smithsonian Institute), but I digress. Star Walk version 5 (which is the point of this post) is a pocket-sized planetarium that brings the cosmos to you, adding a ton of cool stuff to this already great educational app.
The iPhone has become a benchmark for all other smartphones to compete with. Reviews on the cases, accessories, apps, wallpapers and more are located below. Here are a couple of Articles that showcase what we have to offer. For eaxample, iPhone 4S by Alex Cequea (iPhone Life Magazine Editor in Chief).
In that article, Alex says that the iPhone 4S has the exact same physical form factor as the iPhone 4. However, the insides are a whole different story, and Apple tried to make that very clear. The most notable improvements are the 8MP camera with 1080p video recording, the A5 dual-core processor (same as the iPad 2), and an improved battery life (8 hours of 3G talk time, 200 hours of standby). As far as the capabilities, the new Siri Assistant feature was the highlight of the show. The Siri Assistant recognizes natural language and can answer questions such as, "What's the temperature out today?" Combined with the phone's GPS, you can say something like, "Remind me to call my wife when I get to work." The Assistant will not only know who your "wife" is, it'll also know where "work" is and pop up a reminder to "call Marcy" when you get there."
Here's another great article, The Best iPhone 4 Cases. This article goes on to explain that like its iPhone predecessors, cases have become one of the most popular ways to accessorize your cell phone. Most cell phone consumers buy a case bundled with their new phone to protect it from day one. And who can blame them? Mobile devices have become hugely valuable and expensive items; you want to protect them the best way you can. There are literally hundreds of cases on the market. Let's examine the different options available on the market to help you choose the one that's right for you.
What to know how to create your own app? "The first step in creating an app is to understand what you want to create and how you will measure its success. Make sure the idea is well vetted and there is a solid business case behind it. There are roughly 600 new apps submitted to Apple each day—what is going to differentiate your app from the thousands that are already available and being launched each week? Here are some questions you’ll want to ask when getting your app idea..."
