I have been a iphone radio user (my list of radio apps) since AOL radio first came out. I tend to use the digital radio just as often as I use the iPod feature. Missing however was public radio from AOL. Well, that has been sorted. Now, NPR Mobile has been out for a bit, but it lacked live streaming.
With Microsoft's recent announcement of POP access to its popular Hotmail email service, iPhone users can finally begin getting their email with the built in client software.
Setting up your Hotmail account is simple on the iPhone since it retrieves all of the correct settings automatically so your email will be up and running in mere minutes.
Yesterday I wrote about a FAIL where movies for many iphone users are not playing. I do not have a the full answer as to why it’s not working, although it seems that the .flv (flash version) of the video is playing instead of the h.264 (apple version). As of this writing, it still does not work for me; even after a few reboots. However, I did find a way to get video to work.
An interesting short article on Silicon Alley Insider uses Google Trends to show how the iPhone continues to win the mindshare war among smartphone users. None of the other models are even close. Android is barely a blip.
For some months now, rumors have swirled about Apple Computers being poised to take on the low cost phone market by releasing what amounts to a broken iPhone for a mere $99.
If the rumors are to be believed, Apple's new $99 iPhone will sport primarily 2G specifications with some limitations as are indicated on the chart below.
We travel a lot and since we live in Michigan, the weather extremes can be severe. Thus I always wanted to be able to monitor house and freezer temperatures while we were gone. We once returned home to find a freezer had failed and the resulting aroma and mess was so substantial we had to haul the freezer out of the house and to the dump!
Some of you know that I attended the Consumer Electronics Show in Vegas earlier this month and got to see some apps that had not yet been released.
Yesterday's very quiet release of updated firmware for the iPhone seems to be operating very smoothly. Apple's release of the 2.21 firmware came accross via iTunes as an unexpected update and gave very little information about what "bug fixes" it was referring to about the changes it would perform. Strangely, even Apple's own website shows 2.2 as the current release, not the 2.21 update.
I’ve written a number of posts about using the iphone as a biking, running and even golfing computer. Well, there is the next level. A full training environment! From SmHeart link. As good as having speed and elevation change is useful for training, adding cardio and other measure, like cadence and power, would bring you to pro level training.
Everything iPhone - Apps, Accessories, Reviews, Wallpapers etc | iPhone Life Magazine
The iPhone has become a benchmark for all other smartphones to compete with. Reviews on the cases, accessories, apps, wallpapers and more are located below. Here are a couple of Articles that showcase what we have to offer. For eaxample, iPhone 4S by Alex Cequea (iPhone Life Magazine Editor in Chief).
In that article, Alex says that the iPhone 4S has the exact same physical form factor as the iPhone 4. However, the insides are a whole different story, and Apple tried to make that very clear. The most notable improvements are the 8MP camera with 1080p video recording, the A5 dual-core processor (same as the iPad 2), and an improved battery life (8 hours of 3G talk time, 200 hours of standby). As far as the capabilities, the new Siri Assistant feature was the highlight of the show. The Siri Assistant recognizes natural language and can answer questions such as, "What's the temperature out today?" Combined with the phone's GPS, you can say something like, "Remind me to call my wife when I get to work." The Assistant will not only know who your "wife" is, it'll also know where "work" is and pop up a reminder to "call Marcy" when you get there."
Here's another great article, The Best iPhone 4 Cases. This article goes on to explain that like its iPhone predecessors, cases have become one of the most popular ways to accessorize your cell phone. Most cell phone consumers buy a case bundled with their new phone to protect it from day one. And who can blame them? Mobile devices have become hugely valuable and expensive items; you want to protect them the best way you can. There are literally hundreds of cases on the market. Let's examine the different options available on the market to help you choose the one that's right for you.
What to know how to create your own app? "The first step in creating an app is to understand what you want to create and how you will measure its success. Make sure the idea is well vetted and there is a solid business case behind it.
