Early reviews of the iPhone 4S praise speed, camera, and Siri

image

Although the iPhone 4S isn't yet available, a number of enthusiasts were able to give it a test run at Apple's event on Tuesday. And they've now written their initial impressions. They generally praise the greater speed, higher quality camera, and the effectiveness of Siri. TiPb has posted a roundup of several of these reviews. Be sure to read the review on This Is My Next, which says that Siri, the new speech recognition feature, is indeed impressive.

Review: Kula Blox by TransGaming, Inc.

image

I’m not an animal lover, but I’m also not one to see innocent little creatures get consumed by vicious predators – at least not as a general rule.  Unfortunately, Kula Blox makes the whole experience rather compelling.  This cute “falling” game actually adds a couple of cool twists to the whole genre and in the process it manages to create an entertaining casual game.  I honestly didn’t know much about Kula Blox before agreeing to review the game, but now I’m glad I volunteered for this adventure.

Geotagging photos on your iOS device or desktop computer

image

As has been mentioned some weeks ago, it's pretty easy to record GPS information and, later, incorporate it into photos taken on a non-GPS-enabled camera.

Unfortunately, the current camera lineup doesn't really please people that would like to geotag their shots. Neither the, because of the high price-value ratio or high image quality (IQ), most popular point-and-shoot (P&S) or DSLR (including mirrorless [aka EVIL] or some lower-end [Sony] SLT) cameras have built-in GPS modules.

Some examples of the current, most popular cameras lacking any GPS support:

iPhone 4S -- Siri is the game changer

The disappointment in not seeing an iPhone 5 is silly. The iPhone 4S is a radical step forward -- thanks to Siri. So what if the phone looks the same? The way you interact with it has been utterly transformed. This is what Apple has excelled at for over 30 years. And this is why the iPhone 4S is revoluationary. Siri isn't just speech recognition; it's natural language understanding.

Got your iPhone 4 on order? How about a case?

image

I haven't ordered an iPhone 4 yet. I'm waiting for an iPhone 5. But I just learned about the Universal Sport Rugged Pouch case for the iPhone 4 and thought some of you who are buying the 4 might be interested.

What I like about it is:

#1 - It's Ballistic. Their products are always well made.

#2 I like the fold-over belt clip. That is really unique. It's handy, achieves the purpose and still looks great.

PhotoPieces App Review

image

PhotoPieces is a fun little photo-manipulation app for iPhone that is based on creating photo-collages out of unique designs. The designs are available in the app as templates, although there is a very limited amount of them -- six to be exact. Despite this, the app is something unique on the App Store because it really allows you to create some interesting looking images.

iPhone Game Review: Stinger Foosball League

image

Stinger Games’ newly launched Stinger Foosball League takes a game that’s already a step removed from reality into a truly virtual environment.  Foosball, of course, is the table version of football or soccer.  With Stinger Foosball League, the field that was crammed into a table in a pub is now in your iOS device.

Everything iPhone - Apps, Accessories, Reviews, Wallpapers etc | iPhone Life Magazine

The iPhone has become a benchmark for all other smartphones to compete with.  Reviews on the cases, accessories, apps, wallpapers and more are located below.  Here are a couple of Articles that showcase what we have to offer.  For eaxample, iPhone 4S by Alex Cequea (iPhone Life Magazine Editor in Chief).

In that article, Alex says that the iPhone 4S has the exact same physical form factor as the iPhone 4. However, the insides are a whole different story, and Apple tried to make that very clear. The most notable improvements are the 8MP camera with 1080p video recording, the A5 dual-core processor (same as the iPad 2), and an improved battery life (8 hours of 3G talk time, 200 hours of standby). As far as the capabilities, the new Siri Assistant feature was the highlight of the show. The Siri Assistant recognizes natural language and can answer questions such as, "What's the temperature out today?" Combined with the phone's GPS, you can say something like, "Remind me to call my wife when I get to work." The Assistant will not only know who your "wife" is, it'll also know where "work" is and pop up a reminder to "call Marcy" when you get there."

Here's another great article, The Best iPhone 4 Cases. This article goes on to explain that like its iPhone predecessors, cases have become one of the most popular ways to accessorize your cell phone. Most cell phone consumers buy a case bundled with their new phone to protect it from day one. And who can blame them? Mobile devices have become hugely valuable and expensive items; you want to protect them the best way you can. There are literally hundreds of cases on the market. Let's examine the different options available on the market to help you choose the one that's right for you.

What to know how to create your own app?  "The first step in creating an app is to understand what you want to create and how you will measure its success. Make sure the idea is well vetted and there is a solid business case behind it. There are roughly 600 new apps submitted to Apple each day—what is going to differentiate your app from the thousands that are already available and being launched each week? Here are some questions you’ll want to ask when getting your app idea..."
