Ultimate Comparison of the iPhone 3G to other Mobile operating systems and devices - Part I

image

At last, I was able to afford an iPhone 3G without an expensive data / phone plan (meaning a much higher starting price). Of course, I've been playing with the device since then.

Filamente SharePoint App Review

image

Filamente SharePoint is an app that every professional should have.  Especially for those that are constantly involved with documents; this app is perfect for your needs.  In a basic sense; Filamente allows you to upload, download, and share all of your desired documents.  Even though that doesn’t seem like much; if you do a lot of business from your iPad or iPhone, then you realize the difficulty in viewing and uploading certain documents due to format.  Luckily; this is where Filament SharePoint comes in to make things easier.

Huge demand for iPhone 4S continues; stores selling out daily

The iPhone 4S is still selling like crazy, with AppleInsider reporting that 85% of the Apple Stores surveyed ran out of stock each day. But apparently their stock is being replenished every morning, so that customers who leave empty handed are able to make an appointment to pick one up the next day. There is similar demand around the world.

What I played this week - Dark Meadow and Dead Space!

image
It was a joyous Halloween week of gory shooter games, which still has not ended! Dead Space, released earlier this year, is a gore-fest of terror-inducing abominations that spring up on you from just about everywhere--easily the top spot of the genre. I've had the game for awhile, but just finally getting around to really playing it (I have a long queue, so sue me). Also in this edition is a tasty game called Dark Meadow: a scary shooter, and a puzzle-solving adventure game all wrapped in one. Read on for my mini-reviews of both games. Eric Pankoke has previously posted up on both...

360 Panorama ($.99) http://occipital.com/360/app

Capturing panoramas are now easier than ever! Just open the app, tap the screen and pan your phone in any direction. Your panorama gets stitched together as you go. When you're done, you can instantly save your panorama or share via email, Twitter, or Facebook.

In real estate, we used to pay hundreds of dollars to have this done for virtual tours and we would have to wait days to get it back. Now it can be done and on a website before we leave the house.

CoPilot Live Premium USA iPhone App Review

Everyone is looking for the best GPS app and CoPilot Live may have just taken that title.  It’s a very user-friendly app that not only has audio capabilities, but also provides additional features to make the experience safer.  It really does become your copilot without having to look at your phone or GPS while driving.

Glitches, glitches: Siri outage, Sprint data speed, iPhone 4S battery life

image

So things are just a little rocky at the moment, but I guess that's to be expected. And the issues aren't that serious. Yesterday Siri was down again for some users. Siri's interpretation of your commands and questions happens not on your iPhone 4S but on Apple's servers. If there's a problem on Apple's end, Siri becomes uncommunicative. CNET and TiPb were among the sites that reported the outages. Some users found that resetting their phone helped.

iPhone Life Weekly Weekend Giveaways! 11/4

Every weekend we will be raffling off tons of great apps and accessories for FREE. Here's how it works:

Everything iPhone - Apps, Accessories, Reviews, Wallpapers etc | iPhone Life Magazine

The iPhone has become a benchmark for all other smartphones to compete with.  Reviews on the cases, accessories, apps, wallpapers and more are located below.  Here are a couple of Articles that showcase what we have to offer.  For eaxample, iPhone 4S by Alex Cequea (iPhone Life Magazine Editor in Chief).

In that article, Alex says that the iPhone 4S has the exact same physical form factor as the iPhone 4. However, the insides are a whole different story, and Apple tried to make that very clear. The most notable improvements are the 8MP camera with 1080p video recording, the A5 dual-core processor (same as the iPad 2), and an improved battery life (8 hours of 3G talk time, 200 hours of standby). As far as the capabilities, the new Siri Assistant feature was the highlight of the show. The Siri Assistant recognizes natural language and can answer questions such as, "What's the temperature out today?" Combined with the phone's GPS, you can say something like, "Remind me to call my wife when I get to work." The Assistant will not only know who your "wife" is, it'll also know where "work" is and pop up a reminder to "call Marcy" when you get there."

Here's another great article, The Best iPhone 4 Cases. This article goes on to explain that like its iPhone predecessors, cases have become one of the most popular ways to accessorize your cell phone. Most cell phone consumers buy a case bundled with their new phone to protect it from day one. And who can blame them? Mobile devices have become hugely valuable and expensive items; you want to protect them the best way you can. There are literally hundreds of cases on the market. Let's examine the different options available on the market to help you choose the one that's right for you.

What to know how to create your own app?  "The first step in creating an app is to understand what you want to create and how you will measure its success. Make sure the idea is well vetted and there is a solid business case behind it. There are roughly 600 new apps submitted to Apple each day—what is going to differentiate your app from the thousands that are already available and being launched each week? Here are some questions you’ll want to ask when getting your app idea..."
