Keep your New Years Resolution with ibitz Fitness Monitors

image

Wearable computing is here, as was evident at CES 2014. One of the most evident applications of this trend is health and fitness gear. There were a lot of bracelets on display, but I already wear a watch and don't want another thing on my wrist. The ibitz is a handy and compact fitness tracker that clips to your belt or clothing and you can forget about it. And thanks to Bluetooth 4.0 Low Energy, it can last for months without recharging.

TYLT Upends the Accessory Market, Again

I've been a big fan of TYLT since they launched at CES 2012, so I was interested to see what they would offer at CES 2014. As expected, they built on to their colorful and useful line of accessories.

More Evidence for Larger iPhone 6, Phablet; Other Specs Revealed

image

More evidence has emerged suggesting that Apple will be coming out with an iPhone 6 that has a 4.7- or 4.8-inch display, as well as a "phablet" with a 5.5-inch display. The most recent rumors come from a post on BGR, which cites a report from a South Korean securities firm known for having inside sources. BGR says there have now been at least a dozen independent reports of these larger screen sizes. However, this recent report goes well beyond giving the screen sizes and offers details on the other specs. They say the iPhone 6 will have HD resolution of 1,920 x 1,080 pixels and that the phablet will be a 2K device, with 2,272 x 1,280 pixels. Unlike the 5s, they say the iPhone 6 will have a 128GB option, in addition to 16, 32, and 64. Other specs for the new phone are similar to the 5s, including an 8-megapixel camera and a 3.2-megapixel FaceTime camera. The report says, as expected, that the new phones will have the A8 processor. This latest report even goes so far as to say when we can expect the new phones: in the second or third quarter.

UPDATE: LogMeIn Ignition Now USELESS Amid Questionable Business Moves.

image

Updated Article 1/25/14:

WOW. I had to update this previously glowing article of what had been a well-made app and service to reflect the poor business decisions made by LogMeIn.  First, they had one of the more expensive apps at $20 to $30, and more recently, it was as much as $130. But I still recommended it because it connected to their FREE service, making the up-front investment worthwhile.

Now, the Free service is gone, and the app has been pulled and is useless. Users have seven days to convert to a paid account of $50 to $100 or more. When that happens to a free or even $0.99 app, it's one thing and understandable, but with $30 to $130 app, that's a bad investment and bad policy.

Everything iPhone - Apps, Accessories, Reviews, Wallpapers etc | iPhone Life Magazine

The iPhone has become a benchmark for all other smartphones to compete with.  Reviews on the cases, accessories, apps, wallpapers and more are located below.  Here are a couple of Articles that showcase what we have to offer.  For eaxample, iPhone 4S by Alex Cequea (iPhone Life Magazine Editor in Chief).

In that article, Alex says that the iPhone 4S has the exact same physical form factor as the iPhone 4. However, the insides are a whole different story, and Apple tried to make that very clear. The most notable improvements are the 8MP camera with 1080p video recording, the A5 dual-core processor (same as the iPad 2), and an improved battery life (8 hours of 3G talk time, 200 hours of standby). As far as the capabilities, the new Siri Assistant feature was the highlight of the show. The Siri Assistant recognizes natural language and can answer questions such as, "What's the temperature out today?" Combined with the phone's GPS, you can say something like, "Remind me to call my wife when I get to work." The Assistant will not only know who your "wife" is, it'll also know where "work" is and pop up a reminder to "call Marcy" when you get there."

Here's another great article, The Best iPhone 4 Cases. This article goes on to explain that like its iPhone predecessors, cases have become one of the most popular ways to accessorize your cell phone. Most cell phone consumers buy a case bundled with their new phone to protect it from day one. And who can blame them? Mobile devices have become hugely valuable and expensive items; you want to protect them the best way you can. There are literally hundreds of cases on the market. Let's examine the different options available on the market to help you choose the one that's right for you.

What to know how to create your own app?  "The first step in creating an app is to understand what you want to create and how you will measure its success. Make sure the idea is well vetted and there is a solid business case behind it. There are roughly 600 new apps submitted to Apple each day—what is going to differentiate your app from the thousands that are already available and being launched each week? Here are some questions you’ll want to ask when getting your app idea..."
