How do I change my background image?

HTsetbackgroundDo you ever get tired looking as the default background of your Home screen and Slide to Unlock screen? Did you know you could change them? Here’s how you do it:


Use pictures from the default collection:

  1. Open Settings then tap on Wallpaper (“Brightness & Wallpaper” on an iPad).

  2. Tap on the image of your current Home or Unlock screen.
  3. Tap on Wallpaper at the top of the screen to display your device’s default collection of wallpaper images.

  4. Tap on the image you want to use; the image will display in full-screen preview mode.

  5. iPhone/iPod touch: Tap on Set and then tap where you want the image to show: Set Lock Screen, Set Home Screen, or Set Both.

  6. iPad: Select one of the options from top of screen: Set Lock Screen, Set Home Screen, Set both.

Use one of the images in your photo album:

  1. Launch Settings then tap on Wallpaper (“Brightness & Wallpaper” on the iPad).
  2. Tap on the image of your current Home or Unlock screen.

  3. Select one of the folders in your photo library.
  4. Tap on the image you want to use.

  5. Move and scale the image. Pinch and spread your fingers to zoom in and out on the image; drag the image and position it how you want it.

  6. iPhone/iPod touch: Tap Set and then tap where you want image to show: Set Lock Screen, Set Home Screen, or Set Both.

  7. iPad: Select one of the options from top of screen: Set Lock Screen, Set Home Screen, Set both.


Take a picture and use it as a background:

iOS device with camera

  1. Open the Camera app.

  2. Point the camera towards the target and tap the camera button again to take a picture.
  3. Tap on the Camera Roll option.

  4. Tap on the picture you took.

  5. Select the Action icon (the box with an arrow coming out).

  6. Tap on Use as Wallpaper.

  7. Move and scale the image.

  8. Tap on Set and select Wallpaper or Home screen.
