Looking for a naval strategy game that gives you granular control of the individual weapons on a fleet of battleships? Today is your lucky day! Battle Fleet, formerly at $4.99 and highly rated in the iTunes store, has been reduced to $1.99 for a limited time. Features include multiple gameplay modes, awesome weapon upgrades, vintage battles and much more... Check it out in the App store, but don't wait. The sale is only good for this weekend.
I've written about Nomad's artistic brushes before but their newest line, the Flex series, adds a nice twist. As with all of their styluses, they use capacitive hairlike synthetic threads as a paintbrush would, but thanks to their conductivity, you can use painting apps, like ArtRage, with greater control. With the Flex line, you can add a second tip and flip the stylus around and have a thicker or thinner brush tip, depending on your needs.
This review started out about Download Expert--a simple iOS browser app that let's you grab files from a web site or online service like Dropbox. You want your music, movies, and other files on your iPhone, install Download Expert...blah, blah. Then I started messing with the Dropbox app to troubleshoot some issues, and next thing I know, I'm trying a completely new service called OfficeDrop that has it's own awesome iOS app and web service for syncing files. Sheesh! Round and round on the cloud wheel we go (see my previous shootout here). Though the shootout was more about document editing, I covered a few cloud storage services there. You can learn more about these services and apps in this, yet another cloud storage review, and pseudo-shootout...Part 2, you might say...
Hello, Cappuccino is a restaurant management game where you are the manager of a new cafe and you have to grow your business so it becomes the most successful cafe in the world. Restaurant management games are nothing new, especially when it comes to playing on mobile devices, but this one does an excellent job at taking the best aspects of all the other games and combining them into this fun app.
I'm not a big fan of Instagram. It can be pretty obvious when a photo has been through an Instagram filter. But what if you really want to manipulate an image, perhaps to make it look like it came from an old film reel? You are going to want more fine grained (pun intended) control compared to Instagram.
Epic Hearts is a hot new RPG drop in the iTunes App Store from the talented dev team that gave us Secret of Chateau de Moreau. Secret of Chateau de Moreau is an exceptional adventure mystery game, while Epic Hearts is an action RPG, but it does have one thing in common with its predecessor. It’s impressive.
iOS 6 brought two new apps to the iPhone 5: Apple's Maps app and Passbook. The latter is a little hard to understand at first but is slowly catching on, as people realize its utility. Passbook, as you likely know by now, is a way that vendors can make things like tickets, coupons, and loyalty cards available in a single place on your iPhone. It's a convenience for you for two reasons: 1) you have all of these items in one place on your phone, and 2) your app automatically produces the right pass depending on where you are and communicates with a terminal at a ticket booth or point of sale.
Monster Tower is a fun new game which does a great job combining the strategy requirements of tower defense with a ‘angry birds’ style set up where you have to defeat numerous different boards within each level. You’ll be able to play this game for many hours because of the constantly increasing difficulty and dozens of different upgrades and purchases to be made during the game.
iHomies is an interesting app that gives you some virtual friends to play with on your mobile device. You start out with four unique 'friends', each with their own look and personality. Within in the app you can touch them in different places to see different animations and they have different sayings as well. If you want them to say and do extra things you can make a small purchase for additional animations.
Best iPhone Apps, iPad Apps, iPod Touch Apps | iPhone Life Magazine
We review the Best iPhone Apps, iPad Apps, and iPod Touch Apps. Whether you want to play a game (like Chillingham Manor), navigate with GPS, or discover new apps, you can easily get lost. There are so many on the market and the number is increasing on a daily basis. So where to begin? The following examples are just a few of what is out there.
The Head Finder is one of the iPhone apps around. It is a task management or schedule management that helps you organize all the different things you have to do. It has a very simple user interface and it seems they designed all the most common functions to be done with as little tapping and typing as possible which is a real time saver. Several time management apps, in the past, have seemed to waste more time entering events and tasks into the app than you might save by being more organized. With Head Finder you can have a new task entered in less than thirty seconds with their quick three tap process to create a reminder.
Another one of the best Iphone apps we've seen is The JumiCam. This app allows you to view streaming video from any web cam you want with ease. It's easy to set up the software on your PC and then connect your phone to see what's going on at your house. The JumiCam also works very well on either a 3G connection or WiFi. This app allows you to connect to as many different web cams as you want so you can monitor your entire house while you're away if you want. It can really take the place of an entire security service if you wanted it to. There are many ways to use this, from keeping an eye on a babysitter while you're out on a date to making sure your pet is safe at home while you're at work.
As the name describes, U.S. Traveller is made for travelers that call the United States their home and travel to countries outside their own. In opening the iPhone app, on the "Countries" tab, you are presented with a list of countries & their correlating flags. The added flags next to the country names are a nice touch, especially since most people can quickly find a country based on visual representation versus textual representation. You can travel from the U.S. to numerous countries - Chile, Argentina, Germany & Italy to name a few. This may not adequately prepare you for the countries you visit, but this will for sure help you. The amount of information and the ease of access it gives to people is incredibly invaluable.
