Edifier Tick Tock Dock sounds as good as it looks

image

I'm a sucker for classic, old-school styling married with modern technology. The juxtaposition of old and new just satisfies something in me. So I was really excited when I saw the Edifier Tick Tock Dock.

Don't break anything - they don't make replaceable parts!

image

I love my XtremeMac InCharge battery case for my iPhone 4 and gave it great reviews; but today, I am disappointed with the manufacturer. I dropped my iPhone, hitting the top of the case of the street which broke the small part on top that covers the on/off switch for the iPhone (the opening on right). This piece was used to control the phone's on/off switch.

Finally, the Spike from SoloMatrix is a real BlackBerry-style keyboard for iPhone, and no Bluetooth or batteries required

image

In what may be the final nail in the coffin for RIM and their BlackBerry product line, SoloMatrix has developed a compact, non-Bluetooth, non-battery powered keyboard that does its job and gets the heck out of the way when you don't need it. The Spike is a combination case and reversible keyboard. Surprisingly, starting at just $20, the Spike is priced similarly to traditional cases that don't have the added keyboard functionality.

ION iCade Mobile is the intersection of Retro and the Future of Gaming

image
I've written before about the iCade retro arcade cabinet for the iPad, and again when I saw a preview of the mobile version for the iPhone and iPod touch, at the Consumer Electronics Show, but I've finally had a chance to play with that mobile version, and get some hands on time.

nPower PEG - make your own power!

image

Finding power can be a problem when you travel, especially when you go off into the wilds of some remote location. Take as much portable technology with you as possible is my advice. People often look at me weird when I suggest this. Should you carry more dried food, water and first aid gear? Sure, but a cached set of accurate and up-to-date digital terrain maps will lead you back to civilization if you get in a fix, or may even lead civilization to you. Modern humans use technology like apes use a stick to get ants out of a log, and let's face it, you might be less likely to panic if you have your handy iPhone and it actually works. The nPower PEG is your insurance against a dead battery! Using kinetic energy, you can keep that technology lifeline open... Read on for the full press release...

Twig bends over backwards to help charge and support your iPhone

Kickstarter is unleashing new products at a record clip. Ideas that might never have seen the light of day are being funded, before mass production, and even influenced directly by those backers. The latest example is Twig.

OtterBox presents new battle-ready Armor series case!

Here is a case that Hannibal would have lovingly embraced, and why not? You could potentially use it (with iPhone encased) as a small personal shield for say your sword hand, what with that steel latch fused to the bottom there. Ok, that might be a bit much, but it will protect your iPhone better than anything short of stuffing it into a bank vault. When out conquering Romans, you can't afford to have your iPhone get smashed on a rock, or crushed under a falling elephant, which will likely ruin your day! OtterBox has a serious Armor case coming for the serious conqueror (insert Police, Fire, Soldier, EMT, Construction worker, etc.)... All "proofs" apply (dust, drop, crush, water)--coming soon!

iPhone Accessories, iPad Cases, iPod Car Mount | iPhone Life Magazine

iPhone accessories is a growing market and knowing where to start looking is half the battle.  Whether you're looking for an iPhone accessories, iPad accessories or iPod Touch accessories you can find articles here on the latest products. For example, here's a snippet from an Arm Bands Review

"Have you ever tried to run with your iPhone in your pocket? It's more awkward than running with scissors. Your phone smacks against your thigh during every step or worse, falls out every few feet. Running with your device in hand is not much better. The headphone cord flops everywhere, and your hand is uncomfortable the entire time. The first step to taking your iPhone or iPod Touch on a run (please don't run with your iPad) is securing it to your body. Armbands can take a little getting used to (it feels slightly like running with a blood pressure cuff) but they are definitely much better than keeping your iPhone or iPod Touch in your pocket. Here are some solutions I've tried out..."

Here's a 2 Cases Comparison article: "There are two cases that protect your iPhone from just about anything: The Ballistic Hard Core and The Otterbox Defender.  So which to buy?  Both provide the best protection you can buy. The Ballistic provides five layers of protection. The Otterbox provides three. However, the three layers are all that's needed for most people. If you're a telephone repair man or think you might drop your phone three stories, then you might want the extra layers of the Ballistic..."
