Tip of the Day: How to Purchase an App from the App Store

One of the most basic functions of the iPhone is the ability to download apps from the App Store. You access the app store from Home screen. Once you’ve opened the App Store, downloading apps to iPhone is as simple as finding the apps you want. We’ll cover everything you need to know below. Here’s how to download apps on iPhone.

If you plan to buy any apps, or to purchase services or content within apps, make sure you have a credit card associated with your Apple ID. When you go to purchase an app, you’ll be asked to enter your Apple ID password or use Touch ID. Doing so grants Apple permission to charge your associated credit card for the purchase price.

To download apps to iPhone:

  • Open the App Store.
  • Find the app you want to download by browsing, searching, or looking at the appropriate category in the App Store.
  • Tap Get.

  • Tap Install.
  • Enter your Apple ID password and tap OK or use Touch ID.
  • Return to Home screen; you’ll see the app downloading.

  • Once download is complete, tap the app to open.
