While you can back up your photos using an app on your Mac or PC, or use the cloud, there's nothing like having them on a USB drive. That way you can take them to a photo lab at the drugstore, or share them with friends, without installing an app. That's why I like the Picture Keeper Connect (16 GB) ($119.99). Picture Keeper is available in assorted sizes, from 16 GB to 64 GB, and it can get expensive. However, the company offers coupons for signing up on its website, so you should be able to get a deal.
I liked the free app's simple one-touch backup. The app lets you leave the photos (and videos) on your iPhone; or to free up space, you can delete them after they have been copied to the USB drive. That drive is actually a dual-mode USB drive with both Lightning and microUSB support (using the included adaptor.)
The photos and videos are well organized on the Flash drive, with folders for Instagram, Facebook, etc. There is also a PC or Mac desktop app that you can load directly from the Flash drive.
- Simple one-touch backup to dual-mode USB
- Lightning and microUSB support (with included adaptor)
- Works for Photos and Videos
- Well organized
- Desktop app
If you want to transfer or copy your photos and videos, the Picture Keeper Connect is a fast and easy way to do so.
