Review: MicFlip Reversible microUSB Cable

Years ago, Apple made the bold decision to switch to a new cable design that offered some special features, most notably the ability to use the cable in any orientation. During those years, Android users and Apple users who own iPhone accessories with USB ports have had to make sure they plug in their devices in the right direction. Finally, WinnerGear offers a microUSB cable that is reversible. The MicFlip Reversible microUSB Cable ($19.99) comes in 3 or 6 foot lengths, with gold coating, a braided design, and aluminum accents.

The fact that the cable is reversible makes liking it a no-brainer. My only concern is that the USB side is still not reversible. Of course my iOS devices use Lightning, but I have a lot of microUSB-powered devices, like Bluetooth headsets, power packs, etc., and I now I can use the MicFlip with all of them.

Pros

  • Brings best feature of Lightning to microUSB
  • Reasonably priced
  • Two sizes

Cons

  • USB side is still not reversible

Final Verdict

The MicFlip Reversible microUSB Cable from WinnerGear eliminates one of the biggest pain points about microUSB.
